A moment. Just one singular moment, has over a thousand meanings.

A single drop of rain, the start of a downpour. One can feel it and run, heading for shelter. Or one can stand and tilt their head back, waiting for the rest to follow. All in that moment, it is a quiet sort of chill, open arms for the wave.

A moment beneath the sun. The warmth as it's soaked into the skin. The smiles and laughter that accompany the brightness. A second of wind and one turns to the sun, arms splayed to welcome it in a soothing embrace.

A moment beneath the dark sky, sparkling with embers of light. A crescent, circle, or nothing at all joined with the dotted sky. A second to trace those stars, to make our own constellations in our thoughts and to write into the sky our dreams.

A moment is all it takes. A second where beeps turn into a solid noise. A line run flat and a life extinguished, a final moment for one, a shocking for others, and a second to regret what hadn't been done. A moment to remember all you have done.

A moment it takes, a cry into the world, new and loud and scary, but it is now your world too. A moment of years, happiness at the new life, at a new joy. Happiness either shared or alone is happiness in itself, a second for pure ecstasy.

Moments of remembrance. Moments of love. Moments of tragedy. Moments of silence. Moments serenly spent listening or seeing. Moments make up our lives, our thoughts, our memories. Moments can be good and bad, moments can be our stepping stones to the next action. To the next dream, the next course. Moments make up everything.

And most of all, a moment can be over a thousand meanings.
