She took a deep breath, clenching her fists. She could do this, she could tell her family. Maybe... Probably not...
"Logan!" Fuck. At the call of her dead name, she goes downstairs, forcing a neutral expression. "You're a little late coming down, kiddo. Is something wrong?"
This catches the attention of her other father, who she is surprised to see up this early. "I am fine, dad. I only forgot to put a project in my bag last night."
"Oh, did you stay up late again?" Pattons voice edged on his parental tone. "Lo, you-"
"No, I merely hadn't put it away." She responds. "Do not worry." She sits at the table, giving Virgil a light smile.
Once they all sat for breakfast and start to eat, Patton finally brings up a question Lo was sure he wantrd to have asked forever. "So, Lo, when are we going to meet your boyfriend?" Patton winks at the small blush that goes across her cheeks.
"I uh... Soon?" She gets out, embarrassed by the question.
"Invite him for dinner tonight," Virgil grins, enjoying how flustered his child gets around romance (for he was much the same with Patton when they were younger.)
"Tonight?!" She squeaks out, eyes wide from being taken off-gaurd.
"Yep, also," Virgil glances at the wall. "You're going to be late, Logan."
She flinches at the use of the name, but plays it off by spinning wildly to the clock. "Sh-"
"Language," Patton interrupts quickly. "Get going, Lo."
------------
"Holy shit, Ro!" Lo says, pacing in front of her boyfriend at lunch. "They want you over tonight, how are you not freaking out?"
"I can't figure why you are, dearest," Roman chuckles and takes her hands in his.
She swallows thickly. "I... I didn't tell them." She says quietly, squeezing Romans hands for reassurance. "I meant to, but the project for AP Chem took up my time and-"
"Breath, Lorraine," Roman murmurs softly, kissing her forehead. "They'll love you, no matter what. You know that right?"
She nods, breathing deeply then slowly letting it back out. "Yeah... Okay, yes. Then dinner at mine tonight?"
Roman chuckles. "Of course, dearest." He gives Lorraine a quick kiss when the bell rings. "I shall see you after last class, my love!" He declares dramatically, as always, causing Lorraine to laugh and swat at him, going to their seperate classes.
------------
Lorraine steps into the house with Roman in tow. "Dad, Papa, I'm home!" She calls, tensing herself for-
Patton comes around the corner to the front door quickly, picking Lo up in his arms with a giant hug. "Lolo! Welcome home, I'm thinking-" Patton pauses, taking notice of a grinning Roman (who is quite amused by the sight of his flustered girlfriend in her fathers arms.)
"Greetings, I'm Roman," Roman chuckles. "I would shake your hand, however your arms seem full." Getting a glare from Lorraine just made him laugh.
Patton sets Lorraine down gently and, as she straightens out her clothes, he turns to Roman with a big grin. "So you're Logan's boyfriend?"
After giving Lorraine a look, he nods, gently taking her hand in his and squeezing it reassuringly. "Yep! Sh-... He's the best, absolutely adorable." He cringes inwardly at having to misgender Lorraine, but it's up to her to come out.
"Pat, what's-" Virgil pops his head around the corner, eyes narrowing at Roman. "The boyfriend?"
"You say that like it's a bad thing, papa." Lorraine sighs, shaking her head.
Patton claps, knowing exactly how protective Virgil could be and shooting the other a look. "How about we go to the living room? We can't bombard these two at the door!"
"You already have, dad," Lorraine mutters, causing a snort to fly past Romans lips. He pecks Lorraines cheek, making her swat his arm as her cheeks turn pink. "I would very much like to sit down though."
Patton giggles and nods, heading to the living room with the two teens in tow and grabbing Virgils hand as he passes. "Well! First things first, I was gonna make lasagna for dinner, is that okay, Roman?"
Roman nods. "I don't see why not, I promise you I am alergic to nothing."
"Except for homework," Lorraine shoots at him, earning a pout from the overly dramatic male.
"Harsh, dearest," He takes Lorraine's hand and kisses the back of it, causing her to blush once again.
"Alright!" Virgil cut off, glaring heatedly at Roman (thought, as mad as he wants to be, all he can see if fondness and love in Romans eyes.) "How did you two meet?"
"Tutoring," They say together, laughing after. "Uh, I wasn't doing too well in our Trig class and the teacher told me I had to get help..." Roman continues.
"I offered," Lorraine states. "Since I want to be a teacher, I thought it would be a good idea to try to tutor."
"When my grade got better and I realized we wouldn't be spending as much time together," Roman starts, taking Lorraines other hand in his free one. "I asked he-... him out."
"I didn't know it was a date until Roman told me," Lorraine shakes her head, finding out obvious it was now when looking back on it. This causes Virgil to laugh, only to shut up when Patton states the same happened to them two.
"Pat!" Virgil hisses, though flushing non-the-less when Patton pecks his nose.
"Virgy, come help me make dinner," he gets up, sending a wink to Lorraine and going to the kitchen, Virgil grumbling but following after.
"You should tell them now, Lor." Roman murmurs, kissing her cheek. "They'll love you still, I know they will. I can tell."
"I... Okay," Lorraine takes a deep breath, quickly kissing Roman and going to the kitchen, leaving Roman floundering.
"Vee, you're getting flour everywhere!" Patton giggles, noticing the white powdery substance all over his husbands hands and arms.
"Uh... Dad, Papa?" Lorraine asks quitely as Virgil sticks his tongue out at Patton. "Can... Can I tell you two something?"
When both of them noticed how serious Lorraine was, they stopped. "What's wrong, Logan?"
"Do I have to beat up anyone?" Virgil adds on, chuckling when Patton swats his shoulder.
Lorraine gives a smale smile which quickly falls. "I... Um... It's not Logan... Anymore uh... I'm..."
Patton rushes over as he sees the tears in Lorraines eyes, worried. "Hey, hey, it's okay. You're transgender, right? That's fine."
Lorraine hugs Patton without the hesitation that she would normally have. "I-"
"Hey, it's alright," Virgil sets his hand gently on her shoulder, smiling. "What name do you prefer then? And she/her pronouns right?"
Lorraine nods into Patton shoulder, unable to stop the relieved tears from escaping her eyes. "L-lorraine... And y-yeah."
"Alright, Lori," Patton smiles and pulls away from the hug, gently wiping her eyes. "Awww, we have a daughter, Virgy! Do you know what this means?!"
"Oh no," Virgil groans, shaking his head. "As long as he- she. Sorry, Lo."
"You're going to want me in dresses and skirts, aren't you?" Lorraine gives a small smile to Patton who nods ridiculously fast. She only sighs. "This weekend."
"That means I have to scare Roman," Virgil murmurs. "I'm not having him hurt you."
Lorraine laughs whole heartedly at that. "He couldn't hurt a fly, I'll be fine."
"I heard that!" Roman huffs, standing in the entryway of the kitchen with his arms crossed. Lorraine merely stuck her tongue out at him, causing him to gasp loudly.
And so, they all helped make dinner (even if they had a flour fight in the middle, leaving them all covered.)
