   Shiro loved spending his days with Adam, whether it would be sitting down quietly with a book or full on conversations about life unknown, it was always time well spent. Shiro thought to how they met, to when he confessed and Adam returned his feelings, and to when he had left for thr Kerberos mission. Everything had gone wrong, but they'd saved the universe and now... Now he could relax with the person he loves.
   Shiro put an arm around Adam, who leaned into him despite the book he was reading. "What are you thinking about?" Adam asked, looking up slightly before going back to his book. (If this isn't fucking me istgs.)
  "Us. You," Shiro answered honestly. "How great it is to have you back here in my arms, even if it did take some convincing for you to forgive me."
   Adam laughed at that, setting down his book in favour of turning to Shiro, planting a sweet kiss on his lips. "Of course I would. I love you, Takashi."
   Shiro smiled at him, setting his free hand on Adam's cheek and kissing him again, still as sweet, but judt a bit longer. "I love you too, Adam. I'm sorry I left, but..."
   "I know," Adam interrupted. "Despite all the bad, you enjoyed being with the paladins and saving people. You always love saving people."
   Shiro's smile turned slightly sad, though for the life of him, he couldn't figure out why he was. "Yeah, I can never give up on people." He set his forehead against Adam's, enjoying the warmth and the company. "Keith grew up well, of course with a bunch of bumps, but definitely well."
   "He did," Adam agreed, a fond smile on his lips. "He was quite the troublemaker. You certainly had your hands full."
   Shiro laughed, pressing a kiss to Adam's nose. "As if I didn't catch you spoiling him before."
   Adam chuckled. "Caught me red handed." He sets his hands on Shiro's cheeks, smiling and giving him another sweet kiss. "I couldn't help it though."
   Shiro set his hands on top of Adam's. "I know. It was adorable."
   "I'm certainly not-" Adam cut himself off. "Shiro."
   Shiro was confused, blinking repeatedly. "Adam? Are you okay?" Adam certainky didn't call him Shiro often, mostly just by his name.
    "Shiro," Adam-No, it wasn't Adam's voice there. "Shiro, damn it, wake up! You didn't give up on me, so I refuse to give up on you!"
   Then suddenly, Shiro wasn't with Adam anymore, blinking his eyes open blearily. He looked around at the Paladins, at Allura and Coran and it clicked that it had all been a dream. They were going home, but he wasn't with Adam yet.

   The yet was what had him going for a long while as they got to earth. Only, earth was being attacked and there wasn't much time. He only barely stood minutes there, at the memorial for the ones that were lost. He knew there were tears in his eyes as he reached out and touched a plaque that read his lovers name. "Adam... I miss you."
