Um... This is basically a vent it does end kinda nice?
TW: use of discrimatory words, abuse, mention of an IV (I always cringe bc needle ugh), uh mention of blood/injury (its kinda minor), and mention of panic/panic attack/anxiety (this is a lot)
~~~~~~~~~~~
     Drumming his fingers anxiously on his thigh, he glances into the living room. His parents sit there, conversing quietly, thinking he's up in his room and doing work, but he wasn't. Well, he was until his boyfriend texted him and convinced him to do this.
     He took a deep breath and walks into the living room, catching the attention of his parents. "Patricia? What's wrong?" His mother asks, making him flinch.
     "I... I need to tell you guys something..." He takes another deep breath, tears coming to his eyes. "I-"
     "Is this about your boyfriend?" His father asks, gaze hardening. "Did he hurt you? Are you pregnant? Do I-"
     "Alex!" His mother scolds, frowning.
     "Can never be too safe!" Alex defends.
      "Mom, dad," He sighs, though the small banter brings a small smile to his face. "I uh... I'm trans. I want to be a guy." He does weak jazz hands, biting his lip nervously.
     The room went silent, scarily so. Then finally Alex looks at him. "Patricia, what brought this on?"
     He flinches, frowning. "I go by Patton now." He murmurs, tugging on the hem of his shirt, anxiety eating him up inside.
     "Hun, you're just confused," His mother says, getting up and gently taking Pattons hands. "What's bothering you? Are you sure we don't need to talk to your boyfriend?"
     "Uh no," Patton says, taking a deep breath to ebb the anxiety coursing through his veins. This wasn't supposed to go as it is, why aren't they saying it's okay like Virgils parents did? "I'm not... I'm not confused. I've... I've been too scared to tell you guys for a while." He lets out a nervous laugh to lighten the mood but the air only seemed thicker now.
     "Why don't we all talk about this first?" Alex says, standing also. "Obviously, you've been corrupted, Patricia."
     "I... I've been what?" Patton yanks out of his mothers light hold, shocked at the words coming out of his fathers mouth.
     "You're just... Lost. But we can help you, Patty," Alex gives Pat a strained smile. "You're still my beautiful daughter."
     "That's.... That's not what I-" Patton starts, only to be cut off by his mother.
     "How about we look for therapists in the morning? Someone you can talk to about this if you don't want to speak with us, baby," She says, stepping forward and giving Patton a confused look when he steps back.
     "I don't need to talk to anyone," He states, starting to get irritated. Can't they see he's serious? That this is hurting him? He can feel his heart shattering at every word.
     "Have we done something to upset you?" Alex asks, frowning.
     "Are you doing this to get back at us for something? If so, it isn't nice, Patricia." His mother scolds. "You're not a tranny, honey."
     There was it, that word. Pattons heart broke and tears collected in his eyes. "I- I am! I'm trans and you guys can't change that!" He wipes his eyes quickly, unbeknownst to him, his parents looked at eachother, coming to an unspoken conclusion.
     "Patricia-"
      "THAT'S NOT MY NAME!" Patton explodes, his eyes widening as he looks up to his mother whose mouth is open in shock. He's never yelled before (unless in excitement) and even he's shocked at himself.
     "You will not talk to your mother that way, Patricia," his father says, voice deathly stern. "Apologize."
     "No! Not until you get my-" Patton freezes as a hand hits his cheek, hard. Tears start falling without his consent (and knowledge), his hand gping to cover his cheek.
     "Patricia, you will stop this at once, do you hear me?" His mother, hand back at her side, states, eyes hard. Where was the love he used to see? Was this really it? This was what got them to hate him?
     "I'm not Patricia!" He turns on his heel and runs up to his room, slamming and locking the door, sliding down it. He hugs his knees to his chest, waterfalls going down his cheeks (which stings on the one his mother had hit.) He has to take even breaths to keep from spiraling into a panic attack as he gets up to get his phone, sniffling and calling Virgil.
     The other answers immediately. "Pat, how-" hearing the sniffles, Virgil jolts upright in his bed, getting up as quickly as he can. "Pat, Patton, breath okay? I'm getting dad, we'll be over in 10."
     "O... Okay," Patton chokes out, trying to keep his breathing even, but the incessant knocking on his door wasn't helping. "Please, Virgil... Hurry, I- I can't..."
     "Patton, breath in deeply okay? Through your mouth for 4 seconds," Virgil listens intently, counting himself. "Hold for 7, okay?"
     Patton follows the instructions, finally breathing out through his nose for 8 seconds. He puts Virgil on speaker and starts packing necessities. "Vee, I'm sorry."
     "Why are you sorry? I'm the one that told you to tell them," virgil frowns and bangs his fathers bedroom door open, one of them rolling off the bed in fright. "Fuck, Pat I-"
     "What's up?" His father asks, putting his glasses on.
     Percy pops his head from the other side of the bed, huffing slightly. "Yes, what-"
     "It's Patton," Virgil starts and immediately both fathers are on their feet, rushing over to Virgil and causing him to stumble back. Virgil puts the phone on speaker.
     Both fathers obviously look a bit broken when hearing the other child sniffle through the phone. "I-... I told them and-" A sob tore through Pattons mouth, and he whirls after zipping his duffle closed, his door banging open.
     His father walks in, followed by his mother and he tenses, terrified of the two he used to love. "Patricia, can- what is this?" His father asks, gesturing to the duffel.
     "I... I'm..." Patton stutters, at a loss for words as his breathing picks up once more. All of a sudden, they hear a car start through the phone.
     "You are not leaving, missy!" His mother growls out, grabbing the duffel from the bed. "Exactly what made you think it was okay?"
     "Maybe when you hit me?!" Patton snaps out before he could stop himself, covering his mouth with his hands. The duffle drops to the floor as his mother advances on him.
     "Now honey, I only did that because you weren't listening to us," She states, as if that all made it okay. Patton flinches back when she goes to look at the mark (which is bruising at this point, Patton has always bruised easily.) Her eyes narrow.
     Alex comes up beside her, gripping onto Pattons arms so his wife can take a look. "Now, Patricia-"
     "I'm not-" He cuts himself off as he pulls out of his father grip (which definitely wasn't as nice as his mothers when they were downstairs.)
     "Shut up," Alex demands icily. "You are not to say you're... You're that again, do you understand?"
     "What? That I'm transgender?" Patton spits through the anxiety. "That I'm a guy? That my name isn't Patricia, it's Patton? Why is it so hard to just accept it?!"
     And suddenly, Patton wasn't standing. No, Alex threw him across the room, eyes dark. With a cry, Patton lands harshly onto the floor after hitting his dresser. He curled up, sobbing as his father stalks over. "No, come on, Patricia. If you want to be a man so bad, show me." Alex spits, kicking him.
     His mother simply watches, her eyes devoid of love, of anything really. That was until fast paced footsteps came up the steps. She turns to the door to see Virgil and his two dads (one of which is wearing sunglasses inside and how is that helpful?)
    "Step the fuck away from Patton," the one with sunglasses growls out, stepping into the room.
     "Language," Percy states, though follows in just the same, gesturing for Virgil to stay back.
     Virgil doesn't listen, shoving past Pattons mother for the duffel bag and Pattons phone (which he finally hangs up the call on.)
     Alex sneers at Remy, rolling his eyes. "No, don't think I will. This is my daughter, she needs to know that."
     "He is not your daughter, you bastard," Remy grits out, immediately tackling the man when he kicks Patton again. Percy rushes over, gently lifting Patton into his arms.
    Virgil trips Pattons mother when she tries to get close to Percy and he quickly leave with the two, not worried about Remy. Especially not when the flashing lights show up (though he does almost panic when they wouldn't let him in the ambulance with Patton.) He hops in the car, waiting for Remy to leave the house as Percy quickly rushes to the door once Remy stumbles out, a few bruises and a busted lip, but not serious. At least, not like Pattons father who has to be taken out a stretcher, that puts a grin in Virgils face.
     They get in the car and basically speed to the hospital, asking immediately for Patton and rushing to the boys room.
     Patton was out, the doctor just finishing up once they look up.
     Virgil yanks a chair hastily next to Pattons bed, quickly grabbing the hand of the IV free arm.
     And well, once the dust cleared, Pattons parents went to jail for abuse and a hate crime charge. Patton got to live with Virgil (with his much more accepting uncles permission who lived just an hour away.)
     Patton swore to himself though, sitting next to Virgil during a movie marathon,that if he ever had a kid who decided they'd be trans, he would never let them go through the same thing he did. No matter who he had to fight for it.
Hi this is alot of venting and its supposed to connect with the previous one shot (haha i hope that mightve been obvious since Vs parents werent Roman and Logan as cliche as it is.)
Uh yeah a lot of venting.
Real thing tho;
You ARE valid. Screw whoever tells you otherwise. Yeah, you gotta be serious bc the hormones are irreversible, but if you dead serious, fuck anyone else. As long as you're happy and not hurting anyone else, go for it.
