  Nico had learned when he was 7 that most poisonous animals were vibrant. His teacher had been very serious about this, though still showed them the ones that weren't poisonous, but were vibrant. So when Nico first met Percy and looked into those beautiful sea green eyes, Nico fell. Hard. Figuring him to be the second type, a vibrance without the poison. Was he wrong.
  Of course, it wasn't immediate or purposeful. They started dating in middle school, being close friends since kindergarten. Nico was gay, purely on the side of men, while Percy was bi. He had crushes, often, but the one to like him back was Nico, thus why they started dating. Starting High school was a whole nother matter.
  They had different classes, met new people, made new friends. They didn't get out together as much, having work and tests. It was strenuous on them both, but Nico wanted it to work.
  Percy didn't know how to break it to Nico, who he knew worked hard for their relationship, that he didn't want it anymore. He had met someone, specifically a beautiful and extremely intelligent blonde who had definitely blindsided him when he first entered his second year math class.
As they started to reach the end of theur third year, Percy was spending much more time with the girl and Nico had noticed. Nico had tried to play it off, nut he finally cornered Percy and asked him what was going on, he saw those guilty looking green eyes and finally thought the first thing about them. The most vibrant animals are often the most poisonous.
  "I... I'm sorry, Nico... I didn't want you to find out like this... I wanted... I wanted a much better way to let you know..." Percy stuttered, unsure how to tell the shorter male. "But I just... I don't feel that anymore. You're.... You're more like a brother to me now and I'm sorry."
  Nico didn't bother with a reply as he sharply turned on heels and left Percy there, staring after him. Nico skipped the rest of the day, worrying his cloest friend.
  Will found him exactly where he thought he'd be. Nico's favourite spot in the park near the school, overlooking the fenced off pond. Will walked over and sat next to Nico, looking at the pond. "What happened?"
  Nico barely spared Will a glance, sure his friend would worry more if he knew Nico had been crying. "I guess... I should've known..." He voice came out quiet and cracked, making him wince. "Why would anyone like me...?"
  Will finally looked at his friend, an empathetic frown on his face once he saw the red puffy eyes. Will wrapped his arms around Nico in a comforting hug, ignoring the acceleration of his heart when Nico leaned into him. "Oh, Neeks, don't say that. He's an idiot for not caring about you like you do for him."
  Nico let out a brittle laugh, hiding his face in Will's chest, knowing the tears were coming back. "Thanks, Will, but that isn't true."
  Will rubbed Nico's back gently, trying to comfort the other male. "Nico, it is true. You're amazing and you do so much for the people you love. It's admirable."
  Nico sniffled, pulling back to wipe away tears. "You... Really think so?"
  Will gave Nico a dazzling smile. "Of course, I know so," He stated, as if it was a fact. "You have a great sense of humour too. You don't take shit from anyone, whether it be about your sexual preference or simply a small insult at a friend."
  Nico cracked a small smile and Will knew he won. "Thanks, Solace."
  Will shrugged. "Just stating facts. Now how about we go get something to eat and you can copy down the notes you missed?"
  Nico laughed, bright and full as he got up, Will following suit. "Jeez, and you still thinm about school." His eyes were still red, they were still puffy, but Will got him to laugh and smile when he was ready to wallow in pity. So maybe, maybe things won't be so bad. His life hadn't ended, Percy hadn't meant harm and when Nico was feeling up to it, he'd ask Percy to be friends still, but for now, he's going to focus on Will. "Yeah, let's go get food."

  It took a while for Nico to get over the fact Percy broke up with him, a bit longer to accept Percy with the girl he'd ended their relationship for. So when he finally talked to Percy, he made sure to do it with the girl and made sure he wasn't alone.
  "Hey, Percy?" Nico had started, nervous when both Percy and his girl-Annabeth, if Nico remembered correctly- looked at him. "I just... I wanted to say sorry, for how I acted. I'm glad you're happy and I still want to be friends. And, Annabeth, I'm glad it's you who can make him this happy. He'll need someone intelligent to keep him out of trouble."
  Percy laughed at that, smiling and taking Annabeth's hand. "Yeah. Thanks, Nico." Percy's eyes wandered to the person behind Nico, who was watching Nico intently as if to make sure he's okay and would step in at any moment when he wouldn't be. "I'm glad your not alone."
  The blush that made it's way to Nico's face certainly wasn't welcome, but Percy saw and gave Nico a knowing smile. "Yeah uh... I uhh... I'll talk to you later." Nico spun on his heel and started walking away, leaving Will to scramble after him with a laugh.
  Percy smiled when he saw Nico's and Will's hands intertwine, turning to his own love and giving her a kiss. "He's much happier now, just as I am with you."
  Annabeth hit his chest, smiling and kissing back. "Dork."

Fucking cute ass ending I had to... Im also an avid shipper of solangelo (cue fucking 50 videos of people saying "we know" here) so ofc i had to end with that. I hope yall enjoy this and yee.
