~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Virgil was not, is not, and never will be a socialable person. He's introverted, he wears a constant stream of black (and purple) and always, always has wireless ear buds in when to and from work. They're always covered by the hood of his beloved purple and black hoodie (which he got complimented with when he forgot his headphones one day; he did not respond to no ones surprise.) When the usually empty seat next to him gets filled, he looks over. An attractive and neat man with a tie and glasses is there, the same man who he didn't respond to when complimented. The man starts signing (much to Virgil's confusion.) Once the others hands stop moving, Virgil takes down his hood and pulls out one of his ear buds. "I uh... I don't know sign language, man. Sorry." Virgil watches as the mans cheeks tint, clearly embarrassed. "Oh... Oh, Newton, I thought you were deaf. You never responded whenever I had tried to initiate a conversation, so I learned sign language to talk to you." Virgil let out a small laugh at this. "I never thought I'd be worth any other language to talk to." "Well, I uh... I am always being pestered to make more friends and you seem very unique so I thought I'd..." He trails off and clears his throat. "I am very sorry. Is there anyway I can make it up to you?" "Well, you don't really have to make it up to me, but it would be great if you'd join me for coffee or something," Virgil gives a smirk to the clearly even more flustered man, and well, where ever this confidence came from, he couldn't complain. "I'd really like to get to know someone who'd learn sign language for me when I can't even speak it." That little joke got a smile out of the other, who corrects his tie then holds out his hand. "I will gladly take you up on that offer. My name is Logan, Logan Berry." Virgil shakes his hand, a little awkwardly. "Well, nice to meet ya, Lo. The names Virgil, Virgil Hawthorn." ----------------------- I'm aware this is short; but I've decided to post all my old drafts that were unfinished and to just write more as new chapters if I ever decide to continue these ideas!
