Ch. 35: The Setup

Kaz is standing at the end of the hallway waiting on Marie to come back from medical and Spike and Marie turns the corners of opposite directions and Kaz looks at them Marie just stands where she's at and Spike walks up to her and stands beside her and whispers something to her and Marie smirks

'I wouldn't be so cocky if I were you because once you have healed up from your little beating there May or Boomer or both of them will be coming after you next' Marie whispers,  she walks away

Spike watches her walk towards Kaz then she turns the corner that Marie turned earlier, Marie walks up to Kaz

'What was that all about?' Kaz asks

'She made a threat towards you' Marie says

'Oh yeah, what kind of a threat?' Kaz asks

'Protect the ones that you love' Marie says

'And what did you say?' Kaz asks, Marie tells what she said

'Mmmm, like you said probably both but at separate times' Kaz says

'And you believe that?' Marie asks

'What makes you say that for?' Kaz asks

'Oh you have a lot to learn about me still' Marie says, Kaz chuckles

'Well you better tell me what you do before you do it' Kaz says, Marie smiles

'Don't worry I always do' Marie says

'Fair enough' Kaz says

Marie looks down the hallway where she came from earlier

'She has no idea what's coming to her!' Marie yells

Marie puts her finger up to her mouth telling Kaz to be quiet then they light footsteps walking away Kaz looks at Marie

'She was there the whole time?' Kaz whispers

'I figured that she would be there she's not that good at spying, trust me I know' Marie says

'Got it, anyway how was your blood results?' Kaz asks

'Come on I'll tell you on our way to the yard, I don't want certain ears to hear this' Marie says

'Alright' Kaz says

They turn the corner that Spike turned earlier and starts walking down the hallway

'So what's going on?' Kaz asks

'I'm fine, everything came back normal, I'm just playing some mind games with Spike making her think there's something actually wrong with me' Marie whispers

'Why are we whispering she left, we heard her leave' Kaz says

'Oldest trick in the book, she took her shoes off and made the sound of her walking away lightly, so she can hear what we are talking about, she's around that corner that we came from' Marie whispers

They stop walking and turns around they see some kind of a shadow duck around the corner Kaz looks at Marie

'Like I said you should be a detective' Kaz says, Marie chuckles, they start walking again

'I just know how people works is all' Marie says

'This isn't going to end until someone dies, is it?' Kaz asks, Marie chuckles

'Probably depending on what May or Boomer does to her first' Marie whispers

'You guys are really going to be the death of me' Kaz says, Marie chuckles

'Sorry love' Marie says, Kaz sighs

'Hey, look at me?' Marie asks

They stop walking and they look at each other Marie holds Kaz's hand
