Ch. 43: Memory lost

Marie is walking towards medical which is outside now in a separate building to change her gauze and clean her wound up

'Hey Marie' Lizzie says, Marie stops walking and turns around

'Oh hey Lizzie' Marie says

'I just wanted to say thank you for what you did just not for me but for everybody' Lizzie says, Marie smiles

'I was just doing what I had to do but you're welcome' Marie says, Lizzie smiles and leaves

'I thought you were headed to medical?' Rita asks, as she walks up behind her, Marie turns around

'I am, Lizzie stop to talk to me' Marie says

'Well I got some news that we can talk about on our way to medical' Rita says

'Sounds bad' Marie says

'Depends on how you see it as, come on' Rita says, they start walking

'Well I want to start off with something good, Vera and them are doing well' Rita says, Marie smiles

'I thought that I would never get a update about them but I'm glad that you told how they are doing' Marie says

'Now the uncomfortable news' Rita says, Marie looks at her

'Uncomfortable?' Marie asks

'Yeah, ever since the tornado happened Amy Sanders hasn't  made any moves since then' Rita says

'Like the tornado stop her plans' Marie says

'That or she knows that she's out number here' Rita says

'Because of the Officers' Marie says

'That and the inmates too' Rita says

'I just want to know why is she after me' Marie says

'Yeah that we're not sure about either' Rita says

'I know it's because I did something to her in the past but I just don't remember what though' Marie says

'You have been having trouble with your memory since you hit that wall' Rita says

'Yeah I have, you know what's sad?' Marie asks

'What?' Rita asks

'I almost didn't remember who Kaz was' Marie says

'Like as a person or as your girlfriend?' Rita asks

'Both' Marie says

'Are you having these headaches still?' Rita asks

'A little bit' Marie says

'Then I would tell nurse Kathy about it' Rita says

'Wait a minute, nurse Kathy as in the one that I attack before' Marie says

'Yeah, why?' Rita asks

'Why does she want to treat me after what I did to her' Marie says

'Well despite what you did, it's her job to take care of everybody' Rita says

'Shouldn't you put handcuffs on me to make her feel comfortable' Marie says

'I'll ask her and see what she says, then I will or not, besides we're here anyway' Rita says, Marie looks at the building

They walk in the building Marie sees nurse Kathy sitting at her desk

'Marie Winter is here to change her gauze and to clean her wound, do you want me to cuff her or not?' Rita asks, Kathy looks up at them

'That won't be necessary' Nurse Kathy says, she stands up

'Alright I'll be waiting outside then' Rita says, she leaves

'I have been looking at your medical records and wow how do you survive all of these situations?' Nurse Kathy asks

'As people will say it's my karma coming back to me' Marie says

'Yes, I see, but still karma should only happen once not all the time' Nurse Kathy says

'Well you should know how I was like before, so I don't think my karma is just going to stop only one time' Marie says

'Fair enough, let's get started shall we' Nurse Kathy says

'Sure' Marie says

She sits on the table and Nurse Kathy walks up to her with her tray and sits it down beside her then Marie starts having flashbacks of attacking Nurse Kathy

'Are you ok?' Nurse asks

Marie has her head down and starts holding her head, then Marie looks at her

'Sorry, I'm just having a flashback of attacking you last time that I saw you but don't worry I won't this time' Marie says, Nurse Kathy smiles

'I know you won't, I have been watching you recently and you have changed for the better' Nurse Kathy says

'I just wanted to apologize to you for attacking you for no reason at all, all you was doing your job' Marie says, Nurse Kathy smiles

'I forgive you, besides I healed up within a couple of months' Nurse Kathy says, Marie looks at her confused

'Wait Officer Stewart said you had to take a year off because of it' Marie says

'No, I had to take a year off because I just had a baby, maybe he's not remembering things right' Nurse Kathy says

'What exactly did I do to you?, because I remember stabbing you with two pens and hitting you in the head with a clipboard' Marie says

'No, you did attack me but not that violently, all you did was  strangling me because you were just in a fight with another inmate, someone has been telling you lies, ask Vera about your file because it should be in there, you may not be as violent as you think that you are' Nurse Kathy says

'Yeah, good idea' Marie says

'Great, now let's get you fixed up' Nurse Kathy says

Nurse Kathy pulls off the old gauze and cleans the wound and puts a new set of gauze on

'Ok you're set to go' Nurse Kathy says, Marie looks at her

'Thank you for everything today' Marie says, Nurse Kathy smiles

'You're welcome' Nurse Kathy says, Marie gets down and walks out the door

'Ready to go?' Rita asks

'Yeah I am' Marie says, they leave

Marie was quiet all the way back to her cell, she walks in the unit

'Hey, how did it go?' Allie asks

Marie doesn't say anything just goes straight to her cell, everybody looks at each other

'Should we go talk to her?' Boomer asks

'No love, leave her be I think she wants to be left alone for awhile, she'll come to us when she's ready to' Kaz says

Marie lays down on her bed hugging her pillow and tears starts to go down her cheeks and she stays like for a long time
