Ch. 57: Money Mystery

In the laundry room, Bea and Liz are folding up sheets across from each other, then Maxine walks in, Liz looks at her

'Hey love, how did it go with the Governor?' Liz asks, Maxine stands beside Bea

'Surprisingly good' Maxine says

'You don't seem to be happy about it?' Allie asks

'It's just someone anonymous paid for my surgery, but the Governor didn't say who it was' Maxine says

'The only person that I can think of is Marie' Allie says

'Even if she did, why would she do it anonymously?' Bea asks

'Probably, she doesn't want to make a big deal out of it' Liz says

'Should I ask Marie if she did or not?' Maxine asks

'I did that once, when my drug debt mystery disappeared' Allie says

'How did she react to it?' Bea asks

'She deny it, of course'  Allie says

'You could ask Kaz since Marie is technically scared of Kaz, she won't admit that she is' Allie says

'I'll Kaz at yard time then' Maxine says, Allie looks out the window

'Uh-oh, here comes Officer Jackson, back to work ladies' Allie says

They go back to work, and Officer Jackson walks In, he sees them working then leaves

Its yard time, Maxine and Kaz are walking around the track

'Something tells me that something is bothering you, what is it?' Kaz asks

'Someone anonymous paid for my surgery' Maxine says

'And you think Marie paid for it, don't you?' Kaz asks

'I mean, who else would do it' Maxine says

'You're not, but I'll ask her and see what she says' Kaz says, Maxine smiles

'Thank you' Maxine says, Kaz smiles

'You're welcome' Kaz says, they keep on walking

At the medical building, Kimberly fimally came out of state of shock that she was before, now she's sitting on her bed with her knees up against her chest, Marie and Dr. Miller are standing outside the room looking at her through a window, but she can't see them, though

'Have you gotten anything from her recently?' Marie asks

'She wants to know why she's here' Dr. Miller asks

'So she doesn't remember what she did?' Marie asks, she looks at Dr. Miller

'No, as I spent more time with her, I came to the conclusion that Kimberly has a split personality' Dr. Miller says

'So who was she when she was here during the program?' Marie asks

'That was Jasmine she's Kimberly protector whenever Kimberly was in trouble' Dr. Miller says

'Jasmine thought that Kimberly was in trouble when she got here' Marie say

'Looks that way' Dr. Miller says

'What is the court going to do with her now?' Marie asks

'The Judge is going to send here to mental hospital to determine if they can find out if Jasmine and Kimberly can handle themselves In prison as one person, if not then they both says there until their release date' Dr. Miller says

'Both of them are not staying for life?' Marie asks

'No, they are not, since with a spilt personality, the court can't send them both to prison even though one of them did the crime' Dr. Miller

'But you just said that they are going to send Kimberly to a temporary mental hospital to see if they can handle themselves in prison' Marie says

'True but it's to see if they both are stable, if one is stable and the other one isn't then they have to stay there until the other one is stable again, it's a complicated process' Dr. Miller says

'Man, what was Kimberly's childhood like before Jasmine came into play' Marie says

'That's the million dollar question right there' Dr. Miller, as they keep watching Kimberly through the window

Back at the prison, Kaz and Marie are sitting at the table, Marie just got done telling Kaz and the others about what is going on with Kimberly

'Can Ann do anything about it?' Bea asks

'Can she, though?' Boomer asks

'Well, she can take care of her at home, probably,' Allie says

'Yeah, but that would be a lot of stress on her, though' Maxine says

'Now, Dr. Miller is trying to figure out what happened to Kimberly in her childhood to led up Jasmine coming in' Marie says

'That does explain why Kimberly was Jasmine at the program back a couple of months ago' Liz says

'Ok, let's take a break from this because we're not professionals we don't know how any of this spilt personalities works' Kaz says

'What do we talk about then?' Bea asks, Kaz and Maxine looks at each other, Kaz looks at Marie

'Did you pay for Maxine's surgery by any chance?' Kaz asks Marie

'Did the Governor say it was paid anonymously?' Marie asks

'Yeah, she did' Maxine says

'That's because the hospital won't expect the money from a prisoner' Marie says

'That makes a lot more sense now' Liz says

'That took you longer than what I thought for you to ask me that?' Marie asks

'I figured that you didn't want to make a big deal out of it' Maxine says

'Or have everybody come to you whenever they need something paid for' Allie says

'Oh, I don't mind paying because I made a deal with the prime minister, if I pay for people's surgeries then they will pay me back because it's not coming out of their pocket' Marie says

'Oh, so they don't want to have bad media towards them' Bea says

'Yes, basically' Marie says

'Well, thank you anyway' Maxine says, she smiles

'You're welcome' Marie says, she smiles back at Maxine

As the day goes on, Dr. Miller slowly but surely gets everything ready for Kimberly and Jasmine at the mental hospital, and Jasmine is not having it at all, but eventually, she settles down as they make their way to the mental hospital
