Ch. 44: Theory

Rita is in her office then Marie stands in the doorway and Rita looks up at her

'Hey, I need a favor?' Marie asks, Rita gets up and walks up to her

'Come in' Rita says, Marie walks in, Rita shuts the door

'What can I do for you?' Rita asks

'I need you to let me see my file from the old prison before wentworth' Marie says

'I have to ask Vera but I don't think she will mind if you look at it, does this have to do what happened yesterday?' Rita asks

'Yeah, it's just Nurse Kathy said something completely different from what I remember happening' Marie says

'What did she say?' Rita asks, Marie tells her

'Sounds like she doesn't want to remember how graphic it was so she told you a little less graphic story' Rita says

'Yeah, I could tell that she was nervous to be left alone in the same room with me again' Marie says

'Just don't be surprised if she leaves here' Rita says

'Yeah, I thought the same thing but if she does I don't blame her' Marie says

'So me and Ruby have this theory that may explain why you are getting injured so much recently' Rita says

'Ok do tell' Marie says

'Ok we looked at your medical record and so far you have been injured fifteen times, so we're just thinking about the number of women that Danny hurt three hundred and sixty-five, we are thinking that is how many times you have to get hurt in order for your karma to stop' Rita says, Marie starts thinking

'I know it's a long shot' Rita says

'No, it's not, it makes sense actually' Marie says

'Yeah' Rita says, Marie looks at her

'Think about it, ever since me and Kaz started dating I have been getting injured non-stop' Marie says

'Yeah but how many more times can your body take for being a punching bag' Rita says

'Over three hundred more times' Marie says

'Let's try something' Rita says, she walks up to her desk and calls someone

'Hey can you bring Kaz to my office I think I know how to break the cycle, ok thank you' Rita says, she hangs up the phone

'What are you planning?' Marie asks

'You'll see here shortly' Rita says

About five minutes later Kaz walks in Rita's office, Rita explains the theory to Kaz and she understands the theory

'From your medical records the only time that you have been injury is when you're by yourself, so I want to try something with you guys, if you guys are ok doing that' Rita says, Kaz and Marie looks at each other, then looks at Rita

'Ok what is it?' Kaz asks

'I want you guys to be together all day starting tomorrow, just to see if our other theory is right or not' Rita says

'What other theory?' Marie asks

'That Marie only gets injury when she's by herself' Rita says

'I know that you like your space but do you think that you can handle that?' Marie asks Kaz, Kaz looks at her

'If it makes this theory work then I don't mind' Kaz says

'Ok let's go figure out what we are going to do tomorrow' Marie says

'Alright' Kaz says

'Good luck guys' Rita says, they leave

On their way back to the yard

'Ok let's stop and talk for a minute' Kaz says, they stop walking and stands face to face

'You don't want to do this?' Marie asks

'No, I do, it's just seems like you are having problems with your memory since the tornado' Kaz says

'No, actually something has been bothering since yesterday with nurse Kathy' Marie says

'Like what?' Kaz asks

'You're still the main top dog right?' Marie asks

'Yeah, why?' Kaz asks

'I need a favor from you' Marie says

'Like what?' Kaz asks

'I need you to ask Vera if I can look at my record, I asked Rita but she kinda of avoid that conversation' Marie says

'Sure, I actually have to head over there anyway, come on we can go together' Kaz says

'Top dog meeting' Marie says

'Yeah, come on' Kaz says, they leave

In the Governor's office Mr. Jackson is temporarily Governor until Vera gets back, Tina, Lou and Zaina are already there then Kaz and Marie walks in, they walk up to the desk

'Hey, sorry to postpone the meeting for a little bit bit Marie wants to look at her file she just wants to make sure that something in there matches what Officer Stewart said' Kaz says

'Ok let me get your file' Mr. Jackson says, he gets up and walks up to where the records are at

'What's going on?' Zaina asks

'Officer Stewart told me one version of a story and nurse Kathy told me a different version of it yesterday' Marie says

'Here you go' Mr. Jackson says, he hands Marie her file

'Thanks' Marie says, as she takes it

She opens up her file and starts looking for the incident between her and nurse Kathy, she finds it and she looks at Kaz

'Officer Stewart was telling the truth but why would nurse Kathy tell me something different' Marie says

'What did she tell you?' Lou asks, Marie tells them

'Sounds like she has some memory loss' Mr. Jackson says

'Or like Rita said she doesn't want to remember how it happened to make it less graphic for you to remember' Marie says

'Yeah, Rita and Ruby have this theory two of them actually' Kaz says

'Like what?' Tina asks, Kaz explains the theories to them

'Yeah but why now though?' Lou asks

'Because Marie changed and now she has to face whatever comes her way' Mr. Jackson says

'Thanks for your support Mr. Jackson' Marie says, she throws her file on the desk and leaves

'I didn't mean it like that' Mr. Jackson says

'I know, she's just a little stressed out at the moment, give her some time to calm down' Kaz says

'Alright, let's get this meeting started then' Mr. Jackson says

'Sounds good' Kaz says

They head over to the others, Marie just heard what Kaz said and she walks away from the door with tears in her eyes all the way back to her cell and lays down on her bed and hugs her pillow just like she did yesterday
