Ch. 41: A Really Bad Storm

One day Kaz, Allie and Bea are walking around the track outside talking

'How's Marie doing?' Allie asks

'Honestly I have never seen her this scared before' Kaz says

'I wonder what this Amy Sanders person wants from Marie' Bea says

'I have no idea' Kaz says

'The only person who can tell us that is Marie' Allie says

'Maybe she doesn't know either' Bea says

'True' Kaz says

Then the emergency sirens starts going off, they stop walking and looks around

'The hell is going on?' Bea asks

'That's the storm emergency siren' Kaz says

'Guys look in the west' Allie says

Kaz and Bea looks in the same direction that Allie is looking at and there's these really dark clouds forming in the distance

'If that's not a sign that Amy is coming then I don't know what is' Bea says

'Come on we gotta get inside' Kaz says

'Attention all inmates please come inside and get to tornado shelter in your units immediately, there's a tornado on the ground, I repeat a tornado on the ground' The Person says, over the speakers

'Now Amy really is coming after Marie' Allie says

They head inside and the wind starts to pick up a little bit

Everybody is in their tornado shelters all except Reb, Lizzie and Marie, they can hear the wind hitting up against the building and the lights starting flicker

'Where are they at?' Lou asks

'Maybe in a different shelter hopefully' Maxine says

'No, this feels different for some reason' Kaz says, as she looks around the room

The Reb runs in the room leaving the door open and falls down and a whole bunch of wind blows inside and everybody starts to loose their balance Officer Stewart and Officer Jackson shuts the door and Reb is sitting on the ground he starts scooting backwards towards the others

'Reb are you ok?' Mandy asks

'Mom' Reb says

'Ok what about your mom?' Allie asks, she bends down beside him

'The tornado was coming towards us we were in front of Lizzie she told me to get to the shelter and we will meet you guys there and she ran back to help Boomer' Reb says, Everybody looks at each other

'That means they are still out there because they would have come through that door just now' Lou says

'How far away was the tornado from Boomer?' Bea asks

'About one mile away but it was moving fast' Reb says

Then the door opens again and Boomer runs in they shut the door and Lizzie stops and turns around

'Oh no!, no!, no!, no!, no!, no!' Boomer screams, she puts her hand over her mouth

'Was Winter with you?' Officer Stewart asks, as he walks up to her

'Yes she was but as we got to the door the wind blew her back and when I got to the door she yelled get inside and she hanging onto the building' Boomer says

After that there's no sight of Marie the tornado sirens starts going off, the wind hits against the building, heavy rain hits the roof and a hour goes by then they hear complete silence  which is not good

'Is it over?' Lizzie asks

'I don't think so, if it's this quiet then the tornado is right on top of us' Officer Stewart says, Then the whole building starts to shake

'Duck and cover!' Officer Stewart yells

Everybody gets in their hiding places then door burst open blowing almost everything out the tornado goes over top of them within thirty seconds then it moves on to other building of the prison

'Everybody ok?' Officer Jackson says, he stands up

Everybody looks at themselves and they nod yes

'But where's Marie at?' Lou asks, then the sun comes out

'I think it's over now' Officer Jackson says

Everybody climbs out of the tornado shelter and looks around and sees a lot of things are damaged

'Guys look' Allie says

They look in the direction that Allie is looking at and sees the tornado in the distance headed towards the east

'Boomer wasn't kidding when you said it was big and powerful' Mandy says

Boomer sees a pair of feet sticking out from the corner of the building and Boomer walks up to them she sees Marie laying there

'Marie!' Boomer yells, everybody looks at her and runs up to where she's at

'No!, no!, no!, no!, no!, no!' Boomer yells, Lizzie hugs her

Kaz walks up to Marie and bends down she puts her hand on Marie's arm

'Mmmmm' Marie groans

'She's alive!' Kaz yells

Everybody looks at her, Officer Stewart and Officer Jackson walks up to them

'Marie can you hear me?' Officer Stewart asks

Marie turns over onto to her back and she has this big gash on her forehead in the right corner

'We gotta get her to the hospital' Officer Jackson says

'Right' Officer Stewart says

He picks her up and they run towards Officer Stewart's car puts her in the back seat and they get in and drives away, Kaz walks up to the others

'I think what happened was the winds were too powerful for her and they slam her into the wall head first and knock her out' Kaz says

'What made her come to?' Allie asks

'When I put my hand on her arm, now that doesn't mean she knows it was me, it just means she knows that someone found her before it was too late' Kaz says

'Hey, I was just talking to some of other inmates and some of the units got some damage on them' Mandy says

'Come on let's go see what the damage is' Kaz says to Boomer

'Ok' Boomer says, still shaken up

They start looking around and they see some bodies with blankets over them

'Kaz?' Someone calls out, they stop walking and Zaina walks up to them

'We lost a top dog, Tina she got suck into the tornado, they just found her body, well body pieces' Zaina says

'Oh my god' Kaz says

'How about you guys?' Zaina asks

'Marie got Boomer inside and the wind got a hold of her and slam her into the wall she has a big gash on her forehead' Kaz says

'Oh geez' May says

They start walking around and looking at the damage, the units wasn't damaged that badly surprisingly and Officer Miles is there looking at the damage and Allie walks up to her

'How many of them are dead?' Allie asks

'So far six, there's some on their way to the hospital' Officer Miles says

'Thank you Officer Miles' Allie says, she walks up to the others and tells them

'Oh good lord' Lizzie says

Later that night everybody has to go to a different prison until the damage is fix and nobody gets any sleep that night especially Kaz because of losing a top dog and Marie in the hospital too, Kaz just lays in her bed wide awake thinking about the good times she had with Marie and she starts crying then Allie walks up to her and lays down beside her and hugs her Bea sits down beside Kaz, she smiles at this beautiful moment between two friends who needs each other right now
