Sometime before lunch, Hanni shrugged on a khaki trench coat and stepped into a pair of exquisite high heels, then went downstairs.
Minji had been sitting in the living room and looked up when she heard her wife walk down. Her eyes subconsciously followed Hanni's long, and she found that she couldn't look away.
"Can we go?" Hanni asked softly, holding onto the railing with one hand and an elegant bag in the other.
"Wait for me by the door. I'll bring the car out." Minji finally managed to tear her eyes away from her wife and headed for the garage.
Hanni walked to the front door and waited quietly, the wind occasionally blowing her clothes. She brushed away strands of hair from her face and smiled towards the autumn sun.
Minji left the garage and saw her wife. Even when Hanni was simply standing still, a noble and elegant temperament radiated from her wife, a testament to noble birth and good education. In contrast, despite being dressed in the finest and most expensive attire, Minji still felt the wear and tear of lower-class roots.
Minji stopped the car, got out, and opened the back door for Hanni.
Hanni was taken aback, her feet frozen in place as she gazed at Minji.
"What's wrong?" Minji was puzzled. "Did you forget something?"
"No." Hanni shook her head, she moved to the other side of the car and opened the passenger door. "I'll sit here." She smiled, then got into the car.
Hanni had already buckled her seatbelt when Minji entered. She suggested with a smile, "Let's go find a place near the hospital to have lunch first, then see my mom."
"Okay," Minji started the car, eyes straight ahead, then slowly drove the car out to the road.
"Minji?" As the car passed the gates of their neighborhood, Hanni suddenly called out to her wife.
"What's wrong?" Minji looked back at her wife.
"You forgot to wear your seatbelt."
Probably due to the perfume or her wife's overall presence, Minji found herself somewhat distracted. With her right hand, she attempted to fasten her seatbelt but struggled to do so.
Hanni noticed that the car was already on the main road and the number of cars on the street was slowly increasing. Suddenly, she leaned over and took the seatbelt from her wife's hand. "Concentrate on driving, I'll help you fasten it."
"No," Minji refused.
"We're already on the road. It's not safe. Let me do it for you." Hanni smiled and reached out for the seatbelt. But it seemed that there was something wrong with the way it was pulled, and the seatbelt ended up stuck. She leaned towards Minji and pulled at the belt twice, eventually managing to get the seatbelt out. She inserted the latch into the socket with a click.
Minji desperately tried to concentrate on her driving. Her hands were gripping the steering wheel too tightly, causing her knuckles to turn white. When her wife leaned towards her, her heartbeat skyrocketed. Including their wedding day, when they had their one touch kiss next to a witness, this was the first time Hanni had ever taken the initiative to get close to her.
It took Minji a long time to calm down. She was still a mess when they arrived at a mall near the hospital. Minji stopped the car to let Hanni go ahead, allowing her wife to place the order while she parked.
When Minji arrived at the restaurant, half of the dishes had already been served. "Sorry for the wait, I had to circle around a few times to find a parking space," she apologized.
