On the large bed, a beautiful woman's eyelashes fluttered. Her eyes slowly opened, and a momentary sense of confusion washed over her.

Hanni blinked, focusing on the face just inches away from hers. After a brief moment of disbelief, memories of the previous night flooded back, accompanied by an ache throughout her body. This woman, no matter the lifetime, is always...

A flicker of anger began to stir within Hanni. But when she caught sight of her wife's peaceful, smiling face, she froze. In all the countless days and nights they had shared, this was the first time Minji had looked so content.

Hanni couldn't help but think back to their first night together in her previous life. Although her memory of that night was hazy, one moment stood out with unsettling clarity.

After they had been intimate, when her wife thought she had drifted off, Minji had whispered, "I'm sorry," in her ear.

Those words pierced Hanni's heart with a profound sadness, keeping her awake for what felt like an eternity. Are you apologizing to me? Or to the one you secretly loved? As these questions spiraled in her mind, Hanni awoke alone in bed the next morning, wrapped in pristine white sheets and burdened by a heavy heart. The vast emptiness within her felt insurmountable, and in that moment, she was too exhausted to resist. All hope and expectation had faded away.

While Hanni was lost in her reflections, she failed to notice that her wife was already awake.

Minji had risen before Hanni but pretended to be asleep, wanting to savor the moment. However, when she noticed her wife's stillness, panic gripped her heart, prompting her to open one eye for a cautious look. What she saw sent a jolt of fear through her. Hanni looked sad.

Minji's heart sank. She wrapped her arms around Hanni and hurriedly apologized, "I'm sorry! I'm so sorry, it's all my fault!"

Sorry? Hanni lifted her gaze. In that moment, the painful emotions of her past surged back. Without thinking, she asked, "You're sorry?"

"I... I..." Minji's voice faltered as she clenched her teeth, finally sighing in resignation. "I wasn't drunk last night. I was pretending... It's all my fault."

"Pretending?" Hanni blinked, struggling to process the significance of Minji's words while pushing aside the complicated emotions from her past.

"Yes," Minji nodded. "I'm sorry."

So she hadn't been drunk? She was faking? Hanni's anger flared anew, and she instinctively bit Minji's arm to vent her frustration.

Minji let out a quiet hum, relaxing her muscles to prevent her wife from hurting herself. Patiently, she waited for Hanni to release her grip, then looked at the bite marks. Spotting a small amount of blood, she suddenly chuckled.

Seeing her wife smile only fueled Hanni's anger. "Are you proud of yourself?" She snapped.

"Not proud, but happy," Minji replied, her expression bright.

Happy! Hanni's fury intensified as she scanned her wife's arms for another place to bite.

"You can bite here." Minji, fearing that her wife might tire of biting her, willingly offered her other hand.

Hanni felt like a cat being teased, showing her fangs and claws while her owner remained cheerful and unbothered.

"As long as you stop being sad," Minji continued, "you can do whatever you want."

Sad? Hanni was taken aback. Did she really look sad as she recalled her past life?

"If you're angry, shout at me, hit me, bite me, it doesn't matter. Just don't be sad." As soon as Minji opened her eyes, the sight of her wife's sorrowful expression felt like a knife to her heart.
