The two held hands tightly, their fingers entwined. Minji handed her car keys to her secretary, who couldn't help but sneak glances at the couple.
"Help me drive my car back. I'm getting off work now," Minji instructed.
"And the information you requested to be delivered tonight?" Hyein asked.
"We'll talk tomorrow," Minji replied, firmly gripping her wife's hand.
"Alright." Hyein felt overwhelmed by the sweetness in the air, making her a little thirsty.
Minji disregarded her usual cold and emotionless demeanor at the company and walked out with a spring in her step.
Once they were in Hanni's car, Minji gazed at the passersby hurrying home. For the first time since their marriage, she didn't feel an urgent need to return.
"Let's not go back," Minji suggested, turning to Hanni.
"Where do you want to go?" Hanni asked casually, playing with the long-lost rabbit doll.
"Let's... let's go on a date," Minji said, her voice filled with hope.
Hanni's heart raced as she tweaked the ear of the rabbit doll. In both her lifetimes, she had never had a formal date with her wife. It was rare for Minji to suddenly be so aware.
"Alright," Hanni nodded with a smile.
"Where should we go?" Minji asked, feeling a little lost as she scratched her head.
"Aren't you the one asking me out? You have to plan it," Hanni teased, amused by Minji's sudden nervousness.
"Then... let's go to dinner first," Minji suggested, relief washing over her.
After some thought, Hanni agreed. She continued to play with the rabbit doll's ears while Minji drove. No matter where they ended up, Hanni knew she would be happy.
Minji recalled a conversation between Karina and Hyein about a new Vietnamese restaurant that had opened in the shopping mall. They had mentioned that the atmosphere and food were pleasant, so she decided they should go there.
As they approached the restaurant, Minji's attention was caught by a poster hanging in the mall.
"What's the matter?" Hanni noticed her wife had stopped.
"Let's eat there," Minji said, pointing at the poster.
[New Store Opening, 20% Discount for the Couple's Meal]
Hanni turned around to see a large banner proclaiming the discount. She looked back at Minji and noticed the tips of her wife's ears turning red. Teasingly, she said, "20% off? It looks like a good deal."
"No..." Minji started to protest.
"Let's go," Hanni said playfully, turning toward the elevator, determined to keep Minji from explaining.
Minji hurried to catch up with her wife at the elevator doors. "I didn't want to go because of the discount."
"Then why?" Hanni pressed, feigning innocence.
"The couple's meal," Minji whispered shyly. "I want to share the couple's meal with you."
"Good," Hanni replied, her smile brightening.
Minji glanced at her wife's hand hanging at her side and couldn't resist reaching out to hold it. She grasped Hanni's small hand tightly, as if it were the only thing that could calm her racing heart.
After a short wait, the elevator arrived. Fortunately, it was empty. They stepped inside, hand in hand, and Minji pressed the button for their floor.
The elevator had a transparent wall, providing a view as it ascended to the eighth floor. As they passed a huge Christmas tree that had yet to be taken down, Hanni suddenly called out, "Minji,"
