As Monday approached, signaling the return to reality, the group reluctantly packed up after lunch the next day and headed back to Seoul. For most of them, it felt as if they had barely settled in before it was time to leave. But for Hanni, the time spent felt significant, especially since her relationship with Minji had taken a momentous leap forward.
The plane touched down at Seoul Airport, and the four of them maneuvered their luggage through the bustling terminal. Upon reaching the elevators, Minji turned to Hanni. "I'll go grab the car from the parking lot. Just wait for me at the exit."
"I'll go with you," Hanni insisted, her determination clear.
Minji shook her head with a smile. "I can manage on my own. It'll be boring."
"Then let me help with the luggage," Hanni offered, reaching for the bags Minji was holding.
"I've got this," Minji replied, "Just wait for me."
A warmth spread across Hanni's cheeks at the gentle dismissal, and with a resigned nod, she relented, her heart fluttering at the exchange.
Minji smiled back and strode confidently toward the parking lot, her steps purposeful and unwavering.
Hanni couldn't help but admire Minji's unwavering determination. Her wife never did things halfway, not even when it came to retrieving the car.
"Then wait at the entrance with Hanni. I'll get my car and drive you both back," Jay said to Danielle.
Danielle nodded in agreement.
Jay smiled, then dragged his luggage toward the parking lot.
Danielle turned to Hanni with a mischievous glint in her eye. "I just realized something."
"What's that?" Hanni asked, curious.
"Your wife, the woman who's been a bit hostile to Jay this entire trip, deliberately walked away first to avoid him on the way to the parking lot. I'd say she's still pretty jealous," Danielle teased.
"It's not like that. They just aren't that familiar with each other," Hanni defended, though she felt a flutter of uncertainty.
"Fine, fine, keep lying to yourself. But you know it's true, just like I do," Danielle said with a smirk.
"What do you want me to do?" Hanni replied, exasperated. "If I tell her not to be jealous of Jay, do you really think it'll change anything?"
"It depends on how you say it," Danielle suggested, her expression turning cheeky. "For example, you could wear some sexy lingerie and whisper it in her ear."
"Shut up!" Hanni exclaimed, her cheeks flushing as she playfully shoved Danielle away.
Danielle laughed heartily, clearly enjoying herself.
"I'm ignoring you," Hanni said, huffing off in mock annoyance, though a smile tugged at her lips despite herself.
As Danielle's laughter faded, she grabbed her luggage and jogged to catch up with Hanni. The two walked together toward the airport entrance, chatting along the way.
"You know," Danielle started, "I used to think Minji was just a bit... serious. But after this morning, I realized she's actually pretty interesting."
"What happened this morning?" Hanni asked, curiosity piqued.
"She had a bit of a spat with Chiquita," Danielle replied, a mischievous smile playing on her lips.
"Chiquita? Really?" Hanni was taken aback.
Minji was a woman of few words. Even with Hanni, she rarely said much more, and with strangers, she practically ignored them.
"Yeah," Danielle nodded. "Chiquita ran up to Minji in the yard and blurted out that she hated her. Said that the only reason you didn't become her sister-in-law was because of Minji."
