"I'm surprised you haven't retaliated it's been what two weeks now?" Mario asked as I sat on his couch enjoying my frozen yogurt.
"You know I am a woman of timing" I shrugged.
"What do you mean? She went public with him on the red carpet and they were spotted out on date night" He said, all of which were true.
"I was letting her enjoy her time. I was letting her think she has her life back. After all, Jude got me back my apartment and he stops by at least three times per week, we have been getting extremely close and comfortable. Her kicking me out was the best and worst thing she could have ever done. If you really think about it" I said and he nodded. I didn't think he was actually going to do it, but it didn't matter that he did as it only made us closer.
"It's all so confusing, he's showing out with her but he's liking your pictures and spending time with you behind her back?" Mario said.
"What's confusing about that? He obviously wants me too. I know Alexis is fuming because he's selling her the we're just friends trope," I laughed, "yeah just friends for now"
"This is so crazy, how hasn't she basically banned him from seeing you?" he asked.
"That's the thing. She's trying to, she hates that he's still in contact. Yet I don't even think she knows how frequently we hang out." I shrugged. "She's playing the game all wrong."
I paused for a moment, thinking about the science behind it all. There's a funny thing about human nature. The more you tell someone they can't have something, the more they want it. It's like a basic rule of psychology. When you put restrictions on something, it becomes all the more desirable.
It's the classic story of Eve and the forbidden apple. The apple was just another fruit in the Garden of Eden until God said it was off-limits. That's when it became irresistible. Eve didn't eat the apple because she was hungry; she ate it because she was curious, because it was forbidden, and because it was something she couldn't have.
The same principle applies to relationships. When you tell a man he can't have something or someone, it creates a sense of urgency and desire. Suddenly, he's thinking about it all the time, wanting it even more.
It's human nature to want what we can't have. If Alexis really wanted to keep Jude away from me, she should've let things run their course. By trying to control him, she's only pushing him closer to me.
