Substitution: #LanaIn
•••I spent the two months watching Jude and Lana date in secrecy. She was here a lot, or they went out to the most low-key and discreet places. His smile was brighter, her smile almost never left her face, and I could tell they were genuinely happy together.
Lana was the sweetest and nicest person I had ever interacted with. She walked into a room and the whole place brightened up and felt much lighter. There was something about her presence that made everything seem better, more hopeful.
It wasn't just that she was beautiful, although she was undeniably stunning. It was the way she carried herself, with a kind of grace and warmth that drew people in. I absolutely hated her.
Whenever she entered the house, it felt as if a ray of sunshine had burst through the windows. Her laughter was infectious, a melody that made everyone else smile. She had this incredible ability to make people feel seen and heard, a talent that made her instantly likable.
I watched how she interacted with everyone, from Jude to Antonio, Marisol, and Elena. It was completely different from Alexis' approach. She treated everyone with the same level of respect and kindness, never looking down on anyone or making them feel less important. It drove me mad.
She had a genuine interest in people's lives. She remembered small details about everyone, like how Marisol loved to garden or how Antonio was passionate about cooking.
She'd ask about their day, listen attentively, and offer thoughtful responses. It was no wonder that everyone in the house had warmed up to her so quickly. But every time she smiled that perfect smile or laughed that perfect laugh, I felt a twist of resentment in my stomach.
I saw her once in the kitchen, helping Antonio prepare dinner. She was chopping vegetables, laughing at something he said. Antonio, who was usually quite reserved, was beaming. But that bitch Lana had that effect on people, making them feel comfortable and appreciated. It was hard not to be drawn to her, but I managed I absolutely despised her.
Elena, who was usually quite serious about her cleaning duties, would pause and chat with Lana whenever she was around. They'd talk about everything, because of how relatable Lana was. She had a way of making even the most boring conversations feel special. Elena would often say how much she enjoyed Lana's company, and I could see why. It made my blood boil.
Even Marisol, was always a bit skeptical of new people, had taken a liking to her. They'd spend time in the garden, talking about plants and flowers. Lana just had a way of making everyone feel like they mattered, and it was clear that she genuinely cared. I wanted to scream.
And then there was Jude. My Jude. Seeing him with her was like seeing a different person. I couldn't believe how fast he moved on and how he really skipped over me.
He was always happy and relaxed around her. His eyes would light up when she was near, and he'd laugh more freely. They shared inside jokes, whispered conversations, and tender moments. It was like they were living in a romantic movie, and I was just an extra on the set.
One afternoon, I saw them sitting together in the backyard, their heads close as they talked quietly. Jude had his arm around her, and she was leaning into him, looking content. They looked so natural together, like they belonged together. It was impossible not to see how much they cared for each other. And it made me sick she was everything I would've been for him.
I couldn't help it I was beyond jealous sometimes just by watching them so happy. But it was hard to hold onto that feeling when Lana was around, but I held on. I held on like my life depended on it.
