Jude Bellingham
Old vs New
•••Today's training pushed me past my limit, but it was just one of those days. Some days it feels like a breeze; other times I barely scrape through.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked Tchouameni.
"Looking at you like what?" he responded.
"You're doing it right now," I laughed.
"I don't know what you're talking about," he said, reaching for his gym bag.
"Why are you lying?" I pressed.
"Just like how you lied to me about Bianca," he shot back, and my expression changed. I couldn't believe he was still on that.
"Ah, mate," I began, "I didn't lie"
"Right" He said still not believing me.
"If I said, she was my house manager that's how I know her would you believe me?" I asked, he looked at me blankly.
"No way," he said, laughing.
"It's true," I contested.
"What agency did you use? When I was looking for help, they sent me women who could have been my great-grandmother," he said.
"Trust me, I was shocked too. One thing led to another, and I fell for her. So, here we are. I'm sorry," I said.
"No need. As long as you're happy, I'm happy," he said, giving me a fist bump.
After wrapping up our conversation, Tchouameni mentioned he had plans to grab lunch with Camavinga and Rodrygo. I decided to join them since it was our usual spot, a cozy little restaurant called La Petite Brasserie. The place was known for its relaxed vibe and delicious food—a perfect spot to unwind after a tough training session.
On the way there, I tried calling Bianca like I normally would to check in, but she didn't answer. It was unusual for her not to pick up, and a slight worry tugged at the back of my mind. As I pulled into the parking lot, I spotted Tchouameni not far behind me. I parked and waited for him before we headed inside together.
As we walked towards the entrance, Tchouameni nudged me. "Don't look, but Alexis is here. She's in the right corner alone," he said.
Of course, I immediately looked, making Tchouameni shake his head in disappointment.
Alexis was indeed seated alone, picking at her food. She looked beautiful, but there was a sadness about her that I couldn't ignore. It seemed she felt my stare because she glanced up and made eye contact with me. I quickly looked away, feeling awkward.
We spotted Camavinga and Rodrygo at a table near the back and headed over.
Camavinga greeted us with a grin. "I was going to warn you that Alexis was here, but Rodrygo said he wanted a little drama," he said, smirking.
I shot Rodrygo a look, and he laughed. "Wow, Cama, why would you expose me like that?"
"Yeah, I wouldn't have come. In fact, it's probably best if I leave," I sighed, glancing towards the door.
"You're not leaving. Sit down," Rodrygo said firmly, his eyes narrowing as he gestured to the empty seat.
"This is her spot too, to be fair," I pointed out, feeling a bit uneasy. I honestly didn't remember that Alexis enjoyed this place as much as we did.
"So you didn't claim this place in the divorce? We can't lose this spot," Rodrygo joked, making me roll my eyes.
"Shut up," I said, reluctantly taking a seat.
