Arjun POV:

I cleaned the wounds on Aarohi's hand and sat beside her outside Aryan's ward. She turned to me, her eyes filled with concern.

"Stay in my home until everything is sorted out, Ajju, please."

What? No, that is impossible. She already has enough enemies, and I can't add any more to that list. Plus, I made a promise to her father. If we go to her home now, it will mean I can't stand on my words.

Things are already complicated enough, and I can't make them more. I sighed, trying to reason with her. "It's fine, Rooh. I told Krish to clean the apartment."

She said, "Fine, let's go there now and check its condition."

What? Now? Oh no, I bet Krish hasn't even reached there by now, let alone started cleaning.

She got up, but I caught her hand. "Rooh, can we please not discuss this now?"

"Ajju, Aryan needs a safer place to stay. Why don't you listen to me?"

Do I have a choice? No you idiot said my brain.

I nodded, following her. The ride to the cafe was silent, filled with tension. I was lost in my thoughts, and even Rooh seemed distracted.

We both went inside the cafe, and I instinctively pushed her behind me, whispering, "Stay close to me until I say it's safe, okay?"

She gave me a small nod, and we went upstairs. I checked everywhere, finding no one inside, and signaled Rooh to come in.

Her face widened in shock when she saw the state of the house. I sighed, knowing she won't allow Aryan to stay here.

Before we could say anything, Krish came in, holding his gun. He sighed, putting it down. "I thought it was them again."

Rooh asked him, "Who did this, Krish?" He looked at me, deadpan. What should I do? Bruhh I am at a loss too.

He coughed, obviously faking it, and said, "I think robbers did this, Aaru."

Who does he think she is to believe that bullshit?

She glared at both of us. "Fine, if neither of you are going to open your mouths then I'll find them by myself! But for now," she turned to me, "Pack your bags, Ajju. You and Aryan are going to live in my house for the time being."

I looked at Krish for help. He intervened, "They can stay at my home, Aaru. They will be safe there."

She retorted, "Your family is busy with wedding preparations, Krish, and you'll be in the office for whole day. Who's going to take care of Aryan?"

Krish went silent. I silently went to Aryan's room and packed his things in a backpack before going to mine and packing.

After 10 minutes, Krish took the bags from my hand and whispered in my ear, "AJ, I think they found out about this place. It's better to stay with Aaru for now."

I nodded, and he said, "I will find their safe house soon, AJ. Don't worry."

Again, I nodded. Aarohi walked in, saying, "My company people will come here first thing tomorrow morning to retrieve the CCTV footage and collect fingerprints. It will be easier to find out who did this."

Damn, if she finds out, she'll be in danger too. I quickly pulled her to the car and told her, "Start the car, Rooh. I'll say bye to Krish and come."

I dashed to Krish, saying, "Make sure there's no trace left for her to find out, Krish."

He nodded, saying, "Don't worry, I got it."

He patted my shoulder, "Be careful, AJ. You know they will never attack you face-to-face. They always use dirty ways."
