I know its been long since I wrote Arjun's POV, but Sorry the plot is not helping, please wait until next chap, I promise that next one is Ajju's.
Aarohi POV:
Radhamma called us for dinner. Ajju had been silent since he heard my phone call with Harsh. I know he is sad that I am leaving. I know he is upset that I am not talking to him.
I am not angry on him,—no, it is not anger, it is the fear that gnawed at me, knowing he took the hit himself. The knife had been dangerously close.
What if it had stabbed near to his heart? The thought of losing him, of being without him, was unbearable to me.
It felt like a part of me was being ripped away. The idea of him being gone leaving me with an emptiness I couldn't bear. He has become my anchor, my home, my everything.
I sat at the dinner table while Radhamma served us. The room was silent, and I could sense the tension.
I sighed saying, "Baba, I need to go to the Paris branch tomorrow morning. There is an issue I need to take care of."
He started to protest, "But, Princ—"
"I need to go, Baba," I cut him off, my voice firm but tired.
He sighed, nodding. "I will take care of everything here until you come back."
"Thank you," I said, feeling a slight relief. He asked "Who are going with you princess?", and I replied, "Harsh, Proxy, and me Baba. Sanju will be here to assist you."
He nodded and continued his dinner. I could feel Arjun's stare on me, but I didn't dare to look up. If I looked up, I know I wouldn't be able to go.
Aryan, with his innocent eyes, called, "Princess Aaru, are you leaving?"
"Aww My lil bean come here" I pulled him onto my lap and fed him, caressing his hair. "I will be back before you know it, Moonpie."
His eyes welled up, and my heart ached seeing him like this. "Aren't you my strong boy, Moonpie? Promise me that you will take care of yourself."
He sealed my little finger with his and said, "I will be good. I will miss you as well, Princess Aaru."
I ruffled his hair saying, "I will miss you too, my little bean."
"When are you coming back, princess aaru?" he asked, his voice trembling.
I sighed, "It may take two to three days, Moonpie. I can't say exactly."
He gave me a sad nod as I cleaned his mouth. Throughout dinner, Aryan told me how scared he was when they kidnapped him. Baba and Arjun kept stealing glances, and I wonder what they are up to.
How did I not know that Arjun was Baba's disciple? I had met many of the people he trained, but Arjun was never one of them.
Although, Now I understand why Baba kept calling him Jai.
After dinner, I went to Aryan's room to tuck him in. I read his favorite bedtime story, and by the time I finished, he was already asleep. I kissed his forehead and went back to my room, only to find Ajju sleeping on the couch.
Seeing him there, my heart ached. His usually strong and confident figure looked vulnerable, almost fragile. His face was softened by the dim light, and for a moment, I saw the boy behind the man—the boy who had endured so much, who had built walls around his heart to protect himself and those he loved. And here he was, trying to shield me from the dangers of his world, even if it meant breaking his own heart.
Just because I'm not talking to him, he decides to sleep on the couch?
The audacity.
He knows that I'm used to sleeping with his arms around me. Fine, you started this.
