“ Hi! ” Zilas waves his hand excitedly at my daughter.

“ Woah, papa! Look, he has blue eyes. Americano?” Hindi niya na napigilan ang sariling itanong 'yun sa akin, she walked closer to Zilas with her mosquito net by her hand. Zilas, kneed down to match her height. It also enable Calliope to get a better look at him.

“ I'm Russian, sweetie. ” Zilas smiled as he corrected my daughters statement about him. He's soft spoken, I have to admit.

“ Hindi ko alam ano ang Russian, americano ka nalang.” She didn't even think twice agad niya 'yung sinabi na parang bata lang din ang kausap niya.

“ Calliope, don't be rude.” I warned her for the behavior she's showing to our guest.

“ No, it's fine Clio. She just spoke what was on her mind. It's normal for a kid like her.” Zilas defended Calliope's actions by normalizing such rude behavior of a child. I'll discipline her once you're not here Zilas. Being rude will never be fine.

“ Mr Blonde, are you wearing contact lense? ” Tanong niya kay Zilas with her small fingers opening Zilas' eyes open like a doctor checking her patients eye on the hospital.

“ Calliope, don't do that! ” I grab my daughter by the arm and was about to pull her away from Zilas pero hindi ko magawa dahil nakahawak si Zilas kay Calliope. He was holding my daughter through the loose ends of her upper pajama, both hands has a tight grip on it.

“ Let go, papa! I'm looking at his beautiful eye color. ” She pushed my hand away from her and proceeded to check Zials' eyes, she even abandoned her mosquito net on the floor.

“ You think my eyes are beautiful?” Tanong ni Zilas kay Calliope.

He's letting a 7 year old kid force open his right eyelid so that she could have a better view of his eye color, and both of them are enjoying every seconds of it.

“ Yeah, it looks so blue like the skies and the oceans. You are beautiful Mr.” Pag puri ni Calliope sa kaniya.

“ Your eyes are beautiful too, sweet pie. ” Sabi ni Zilas habang nakatitig sa anak ko. He looks happy to be in that situation, I'd probably feel icky if someone forced my eye lid open.

“ Okay, I'm done. ” With that her fondness of Zilas' eye color faded like a bubble after being poked, she let go of Zilas and grabbed her mosquito net back. He fluttered his eyes open and shut trying to regain it's moisture after being opened for too long.

“ Do you need eye drops? ” I asked him nong napansing pumikit siya ng madiin.

“ No, I'm fine. My eyes are just a bit dry from what happened. ” He chuckled and slowly opened his eyes.

“ See, Calliope? That's what happens when you force open someone else's eyes. ” I showed her what happened to Zilas para alam niya ang consequence. Calliope, walked towards Zilas and gave him a kiss on the eye. Both of them are practically strangers, why is she acting this close to an unknown man?

“ Calliope, no. You can't kiss a total stranger. ” I pulled her away from him.

“ Papa, I saw him in my nightmare. He's not a stranger.” Nakangiting sagot sa akin ng anak ko habang nakatingin kay Zilas. The nightmare where I died? Is she not over it? How many times must I tell her not to approach someone just because they appeared in her dreams?

“ Nightmare? Me? ” Zilas asked pointing himself in disbelief.

“ Yeah, medyo blurry pero alam kong ikaw 'yun. Cry ka ng cry. But, it's okay. Papa said nightmares are not true. ” She smiled at Zilas who was confused and went on her way back to the bedroom.

“ I'm sorry for that, ” I apologize for the sudden change of the atmosphere. Calliope is acting different than usual, I don't think it's her fault rather it's on me for always leaving her alone.

“ Do you want to watch tv o— ”

“ It's such a coincidence how she dreams about people and it turns out to be real individuals, I always do that when I was younger. I dream about something and it happens after a month or so. My grandaddy said that it's normal for us because my great grandfather told my grandaddy that when he was younger he also dream about stuff and some of them are true. But, it won't last forever. I was 10 when I stopped dreaming about people and events until now I haven't dreamt of anything whenever I sleep.” He cut me off and gave me an explanation I never asked for, an explanation that might change the courses of events that have already been decided by nobody. That gave me chills knowing that in Calliope's nightmare, I died. My daughter is not related to them, I'm sure it won't turn into reality. Of course not.

“ I'm kidding, hahahahaha.”  Zilas burst into laughter. He even hold his stomach as he laugh and laugh as if tomorrow doesn't exist.

“ You should've seen the look on your face, hahahahaha” he laughed at me after seeing my reaction. I was troubled by the thought of dying my expression is showing how distress I am.

“ Seriously, Zilas?” I asked in sarcasm, he was not done laughing at me.

“ Oh goodness, the look on your face is such a cherry on top. Hahahahaha” his laughter is like adding salt to an open wound, I never knew he like to teased someone else's patience like this. Stop me from not kicking him out of my place, please.

“ You were like this, ” He mimic my reaction to what he said but he made it exaggerated and continued laughing at me. He was now rolling on the floor laughing at himself for the terrible joke he made.

“ You were so terrified hahahahaha” he laugh even louder after what he said. As long as his happy, right? I mean, now that I've listened to his laughter longer I kind of feel like it's cute.
