Chapter 56

Calliope

It's boring...... Today is boring..... I want to sleep... I want to go home... School is boring... I look on my paper, madami akong drawings kaya nag drawing pa ako. Ang boring ng class. Gusto ko mag lunch na agad agad para makapag play ako sa playground, marami silang puwedi e play don. Hehe.

“ Calliope! Calliope! ” Teacher called  my name multiple times kaya napa look ako sa kaniya, she was waiting for me na mag answer, wala naman akong narinig na nag ask siya ng question eh.

“ Yes ma'am? ” I stand up kasi kapag tinawag daw kami mag stand up daw sabi ni teacher nong first day.

“ Are you listening to our lesson Calliope? ” Feeling ko mad si teacher sa akin kasi mataas voice niya, bakit siya nag sha-shout sa akin?

“ Opo, ” I answered sabay look sa mukha ni teacher.

“ Ma'am, she's not listening to you po. She was just drawing in her notes, I see her!!! I see her!!! She's not paying attention!!! ” My seat mate shouted, bakit siya mag sha-shout? I was listening naman ah, hindi naman dahil nag da-drawing ako e hindi na ako nag listen kay teacher.

“ Nag listen kaya ako! ” Sagot ko

“ Calliope, if you really listened to our discussion then kindly answer the following questions I'm about to ask you. ”  I really hate my seat mate! Napaka obnoxious niya! Sana maubosan siya ng favorite food niya sa canteen! Bleh!

“ What is the organ that helps us see?” She asked na para akong baby, hindi naman ako stupid not to know that. I'm in grade three, dapat difficult questions ang e ask niya.

“ Eyes, ” I answered. Easy lang naman.

“ How many bones does a human body have?” Ask ni teacher, nag think muna ako dahil alam ko ang answer eh. Sinabi kasi 'yun ni teacher kanina nong nag start siya, naalala ko.

“ Two-hundred..... Uhm.... Two-hundred six. ” Answer ko, I almost forgot sa sinabi ni teacher buti na remember ko.

“ How about an infant child? ” Tanong ni teacher ulit, hindi niya na talk ang about sa babies pero na read ko 'yun sa textbook ko. Nag re-read kasi ako ng textbook before mag play sa tablet.

“ 275 to 300 if baby pero 206 if big adult na, kasi when the baby grows up some of the bones are fused together to create an adult bone that's why adults like you teacher has 206 bones and babies have 275 or 300. ” I answered habang naka look sa eyes ni teacher baka wrong ako, baka wrong ang pag understand ko sa book. Ayaw ko ma wrong.

“ That's.... That's correct.” Nag clap ng hands sa akin ang mga classmate ko kaya nag smile ako sa kanila, umupo ako sa chair ulit at nag draw habang nag teach si teacher. Nakikinig ako pero nag da-draw rin. Lahat naman kaya nag listen and learn while mag do ng something else.

Finally nag ring na din ang bell, lunch na!!! Hindi kami allowed mag stand up kahit nag ring na ang bell dapat sabihin muna ni teacher na puwedi na kami pumunta ng cafeteria.

“ Oh, is it lunch already? Alright class, you may take your lunch.” She dropped the chalk on the container and smiled at us, finally! Lunch na! Mag eat ako tapos play after.
