Clio

We slept in separate bedrooms, Zilas was on our bed while I was sleeping in Calliope's room. I can't close my eyes, I kept on thinking how I managed to make the only man who showed me affection hate me. Tears finally fell from my eyes, I can't help but to feel like I was the most stupid person on earth. Bakit ko ba nagawang sabihin 'yun sa kaniya? If only I stayed silent none of this would've happened.. Why didn't I see how much Zilas sacrificed for a child that's not his?! I'm ungrateful.. I don't deserve him..

The police, FBI, Alther, and Zilas family was discussing how the plan should work. With the police current knowledge of Alastair's whereabouts and Alther's plan, they made sure their plan would be flawless. They were doing something for my daughter while I only cried and poured my anger on people who did their best to help. I'm useless. If Zilas had a choice, he would have broken up with me. He would have thrown me away. He doesn't deserve someone like me. I did nothing but hurt him, if it weren't for that curse running on their family, he would've dumped me.

This is probably the reason why Elodie left me, this was probably the reason why I couldn't get her to be satisfied by me. Maybe it wasn't her fault for cheating, maybe it was me for driving her mad.. Nakakaputangina!

I almost jumped out of Calliope's bed when someone from the other side of the door shouted "CLIO?! CLIO!! CLIO!! WAKE UP WE HAVE A NEWS!! ". Followed by banging on the door as if they're threatening to break it. Agad akong napa tayo at binuksan 'yun, it was Zaven. When did he get here? He was panting, yet smiling as if something good happened.

" Calliope is with granddad! " He exclaimed, agad nawala ang lahat ng lungkot sa katawan ko. It was immediately replaced with joy and a sense of relief. Tumakbo ako palabas to see what he was saying and the first to welcome my vision was Zilas crying himself while hugging Calliope.

" CALLIOPE!! " Agad akong sumali sa yakapan nila, we were crying, my eyes are blurry from the tears yet my heart doesn't hurt, rather it feels light and relief.

" Papa, mommy.... " She cried harder, Zilas rubbed Calliope's back and cried with her.

" I was scared... I was scared... " She kept on repeating herself in between her sobs.

" Andito na si papa, don't be scared na. Papa will make sure this will never happen again, " I assured her. My lips landed on her forehead giving a kiss to seal my promise.

" Hospital, let's go to the hospital... " Zilas carried Calliope in his arms, agad kaming inilalayan ng mga police habang ang natitirang kawali ng polisya ay may tinatanong sa ama ni Zaimi.

We arrived at a private hospital, Zilas immediately made sure that Calliope will be treated immediately. There were bruises found on her little body, may malaking sugat siya sa kaniyang ulo kaya they need to shave a small part of her head. Wala kaming imikan ni Zilas habang nasa emergency si Calliope, we were silent while sitting on the long cold metal bench.

" Zilas, I'm sorry." I finally broke the silence, it was uncomfortable. Especially because there were only two of us, the rest of the police went back to question Zedric and his method. It was a surprise even to me kung gaano ka bilis ni Zedric nahanap si Calliope but that doesn't mean I wasn't thankful, he found Calliope way faster than the rest of us.

Zilas didn't bother to look at me nor respond to my question, he acted as if I didn't call his name. It hurts. Pero, mas mabuti sigurong pahupain ko muna ang galit niya. When everything subsides maybe I can talk this out with him.

The doctor finally came out and talked to us, he mentioned something about possible trauma, medicines, and Calliope's wounds. Zilas was taken to his face to get the prescription for Calliope while I stayed. My daughter was lying on the hospital bed at the emergency room, she was asleep. Pumasok ako sa loob at agad hinawakan ang kamay niyang may pasa. She looks thin as if she hasn't eaten anything for two days, her eyes are puffy and red from all the crying and her once beautiful lips are now dry and flaky.. What have they done to you?

Just half an hour later, Calliope finally got transferred to another room. She was still sleeping while being transferred. Her room is on the second floor of this hospital, it was a private room.

I was sitting on the leathered couch of this room just in front of the bed, my daughter was still sleeping as if she was really tired. There's a dextrose attached to the back of her hand. It was for the nutrients she lost so her body won't shut down, kapag daw naubos na ang laman e puwedi nang tanggalin.

" Papa? " It was a whisper pero rinig na rinig ko ang pag tawag niya sa pangalan akin. I immediately went beside her.

" Andito lang ang papa, " I said while fixing her hair that got into her face. Calliope smiled at me, it was a smile of relief.

" I'm home.. " She uttered before falling asleep again.

Naka upo lang ako sa tabi niya, pinagmamasdan siya. Napaka hirap siguro ng dinanas niya sa kamay ng lalaking 'yun, I can't imagine how my daughter cried herself to sleep when she was abducted. There was also a sign of her being starved. How can a person be this cruel? Walang ginawa ang anak ko.

I caress Calliope's cheek with my thumb, her swollen cheek made my blood boil. I feel like I could kill Alastair if I see him, it makes me want to make him experience the same pain my daughter did.

" Calliope? " I heard Zilas voice after the door creaked open, akala niya siguro gising na si Calliope.

" She's sleeping, " I answered. I saw him walk towards the hospital bed, akala ko sa puwesto ko siya uupo pero he sat on the other side of the bed. Galit parin siya.

" Rest baby, mommy is here. " He kissed Calliope by the cheeks and smiled at her.

" Zilas, sor-"

" Not now Clio, not in front of Calliope." It was cold, he didn't even look at me.
