[1996]

Outside the cabin, Coach Ben sat near the fire, a pot of water boiling over the flames. He looked up as Lottie and the others stumbled back, still in their dresses from last night, their faces drawn and tired.

"Hey. I, uh, I boiled some drinking water, if you guys are as hungover as I am," Coach Ben offered, attempting a smile despite his own obvious discomfort.

Lottie, her eyes instinctively scanning the room, looked around for Evelyn but found no sign of her. A flicker of disappointment crossed her face, but she said nothing.

Shauna, looking around with concern, asked, "Has anyone seen Jackie?"

Almost on cue, Jackie appeared at the doorway of the cabin, her arms crossed and her expression a mask of anger. She leaned against the doorway, glaring at Shauna.

"I have nothing to say to you," she spat out, her eyes fixed on Shauna with a deadly stare. She shifted her gaze to include the rest of the group. "To any of you. I mean, what the fuck?"

Mari sarcastically rolled her eyes. "Yeah, like you're so innocent."

Jackie walked towards them, her anger growing. "Hey, I'm not the one who went completely fucking insane last night."

Van crossed her arms and added, "Right. No, you were too busy screwing Travis."

Coach Ben tried to intervene, raising his hands in a calming gesture. "Whoa, hey. Look, I'm sure that we all said and did some stuff that we regret last night on account of the shrooms. So, I think that the best thing for us to do is just..."

Everyone's face crunched with confusion at Coach Ben's mention of shrooms.

Shauna's eyes widened. "Wait, wait. Shrooms?"

Van nodded slowly, piecing things together. "Okay, yeah. That makes sense."

Taissa's eyes widened in realization. "Oh, shit. The broth."

Akilah turned to Misty, suspicion growing. "You drugged us?"

Misty's face contorted with a mix of guilt and defensiveness. "No, I didn't."

Seeing the disbelief in their faces, she sighed and stood up. "Okay, yeah, it was an accident. They were meant for Ben."

Mari threw her hands up in exasperation. "Oh, my God. Do you have any idea how crazy you are?"
