*3rd Person POV*

Sam had much more experience than Pearl as a wolf. And although he was initially caught off guard by the unexpected attack, he was able to recover quickly.

He stood his ground against the silver wolf, and managed to throw her away. Before she could turn around to attack again, Sam clawed at her back legs. Inflicting a deep cut across her right hind leg.

Pearl screamed in pain. Said pain was felt through the pack link. It caused her to loose her footing, so she fell to the ground. Before she could regain her bearings and endure the pain enough to continue, Sam got on top of her and pinned her down.

'Stand down Pearl.' Sam ordered once again.

Even though Pearl could feel the pain caused not only from her new injury but from also disobeying an alpha's order, she continued to try and push through. Attempting to stand on her feet once again, she was quickly pushed back down by the pitch black wolf.

'Your no alpha of mine!' Pearl snarled at Sam in protest.

The boys watched on the sidelines in complete shock. No one had fought back against Sam before. Especially trying to intentionally initiate a fight with him. Emily and Sue stood next to the boys, faces filled with worry and fear. Leah, still in her wolf form, lay on the ground watching her sister trying to fight her ex in absolute disbelief.

'Is she stupid?' She thought. As she listened in on their conversation.

'Like it or not, I am your alpha! And you will obey!' Sam shouted at the silver wolf he was pinning down.

'NO!' Pearl screeched. 'You ruined everything! It was you! You kept them away! You made me alone!'

'The secret had to be kept! You weren't allowed to know!' Sam argued.

'You made me like this!' Pearl yelled, anger, sadness and despair lacing her voice and thoughts.

'I was following the rules!' Sam shouted as Pearl pushed against him once again.

'What rules?!' Pearl demanded.

'The rules set by the council!' Sam shouted in reply.

'They don't know anything-' Pearl tried to disregard the statement, but got cut off.

'The rules set by your father!' Sam yelled over top of her.

Pearl froze and stopped fighting, her mind went blank.

'Harry Clearwater, was part of the council.' Sam spoke. 'He was one of the people who pushed to pass the rule of secrecy.'

'... But if Seth had phased...' Pearl trailed off quietly, dreading the answer.

'You and Leah would never have been told.' Sam admitted solemnly.

*Pearl's POV*

Hiding my thoughts from him, I stared at the ground in disbelief. 'Did dad really pass that rule? Why? If Seth had phased, dad would have been okay with watching us suffer and worry about him. He... wouldn't have cared about us?'

I stared at the ground in silence. Not bothering to try and get Sam off of me. I was too distracted.

'I mean... I know dad had a soft spot for Seth, but, he still got me as a person. He still understood me... right? But Leah, went through so much pain because of Sam... and... he never did anything. He just said that things happen and to move on... He didn't care... about her. Would it have been the same for me? If dad was still here... would he have told me about my siblings? Or... would he have abandoned me too?'

I felt a tear escape from my eye and drip onto my fur. Sam let go of me and got off, taking a step back. He started heading towards the tree line, intending to shift and get changed. I could smell a stash of clothes in the trees, so they must have piles of spares around here.

'It was all a lie. Dad didn't care about me! He didn't care about us! All he cared for, were, those stupid legends!' My wolf let out a guttural growl as my anger grew. 'Dad is just like all of them! He and Sam are the same thing!' I screamed, rising to my feet. I ignored the searing pain in my leg and turned my body in a quick motion. I jumped on top of Sam, and bit down hard.

*3rd Person POV*

"SAM!" Emily screeched, trying to warn her fiancé as soon as she saw Pearl get up and lunge towards him.

Unfortunately, Sam got distracted by his scared imprint's screams and turned to face her instead of the incoming attack. Which made him unable to respond in time.

Pearl was furious. There was so many intense emotions she was feeling at that moment. But the three that were most prominent and were the ones driving her forwards, was her anger, her pain and the feeling of betrayal.

Pearl slammed into Sam with a large amount of force. Sam attempted to fight back. The silver wolf and the black wolf exchanged bites and scratches, as they rolled around on the ground. Both sides were drawing blood on the other. But Pearl, had so much adrenaline running through her veins, that she couldn't feel a thing. Other than the emotional pain, that was caused by the realisation that her beloved father would have chosen the tribe over her. He would have chosen these boys, over his own daughters. His own flesh and blood. And the rest of her family that were still here, already made that choice! She amounts to nothing in their eyes! She means nothing!

With the adrenaline boosting her resolve, and the combined strength of a vampire and a wolf that she wielded, Pearl was able to grab hold of Sam's throat, using her jaws she pulled Sam off of his feet and held him in the air for a split second, before slamming him down into the ground. She applied so much force, that the impact, caused the ground to crack beneath the black wolf.

Sam lay on the ground. Not moving. He was in too much pain to even try. The automatic shift back into a human was halted because of the alpha challenge. That was the only reason, Sam was remaining as a wolf. He had been defeated. Pearl had won.

Still holding Sam by the throat, Pearl took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. When she calmed her thoughts enough and had a clear head, she sent a direct alpha order to Sam.

'Remove me from your pack.' She demanded, in an Alpha's tone.
