*3rd Person POV*
Four vampires walked into the clearing, standing before the Olympic Coven. They removed their hoods in sync to reveal their faces. Pearl observed them from her spot on the ground, being sure to mask every bit of herself and her new vampire friend.
The blonde haired female spoke up, in a calm voice which radiated authority. "Impressive. I've never seen a Coven escape an assault of this magnitude intact."
Carlisle responded "We were lucky."
"I doubt that" Jane stated, looking over the Coven members standing in front of her.
Bella, the human, was tucked into Edwards side and the two of them stood a little behind Carlisle, who was the main voice addressing the Volturi. Pearl lay on top of Bree about 3 metres behind the Olympic Coven. Watching the situation closely, whilst remaining completely focused on keeping the both of them hidden. The rest of the Coven scattered around Carlisle, not to close together, but certainly standing as one unit.
"It appears we missed an entertaining fight" the male next to Jane said.
"Yes, it's not often we're rendered unnecessary Alec" Jane agreed.
"If you arrived a half hour ago, you would have fulfilled your purpose" Edward commented dryly.
Pearls ears perked at the bold statement. 'If these people are so dangerous, why try to antagonise them?' She thought.
Jane stared at Edward, daring him to continue. "Pity" she said, hostility lacing her tone.
"Ciaus will be interested to know that she's still human" Jane reminded coldly.
"The date is set" Bella responded quietly yet firmly.
Jane hummed a response and looked at her twin, Alec. "I suppose we should head home then. Unless of course, you know where the creator to all these new borns is?" She questioned.
"Her name was Victoria. Perhaps you knew her." Edward replied, with judgement in his voice.
"Edward, if the Volturi knew of Victoria they would have stopped her." Carlisle claimed quickly. Hoping to avoid a fight and the possibility of the hiding wolf and new born being discovered.
"Of course" Jane replied casually.
"I take it the creator has been destroyed?" Alec asked calmly.
"Yes. She was disposed of." Carlisle confirmed.
Bree, whilst hiding beneath Pearl, was trembling violently with fear. The authority that sounded in these peoples voices was terrifying to hear. Being directly underneath the giant wolf meant that she was unable to witness the vampires that came to the clearing which spoke with such power behind their words. Not seeing what could be coming, filled the new born with uncertainty and fear.
Pearl tried to remain calm and still, despite the terrified vampire that lay under her. Keeping their smell covered and the small noises they were making, hidden, as well as trying to remain invisible, was taking its toll. She was tiring quickly. Keeping, not only herself, but another hidden as well, was incredibly draining. Pearl kept her ability going strong, but she had never held the mask for this long before.
'Please leave. I can't hold this for much longer.' Pearl begged in her closed off mind.
"I see" Jane stated. Taking one last glance over the Coven that Master Aro was so interested in.
"Let us leave now, sister." Alec said. "We have no use here."
"Yes. Let's return home. We will inform the masters about the human. They will expect confirmation soon." Jane replied, directing her words towards the Covens head.
"Understood" Carlisle responded calmly. Giving them a polite smile as they turned to leave.
The four vampires left the field quickly. On their way back to Voltorra to inform the kings.
As soon as the vampires were out of earshot and far enough away, the Olympic Coven let out a collective sigh of relief. Before turning their attention back to where the wolf and the new born was last seen.
"It is safe now. The Volturi have left." Carlisle spoke up, kindness lacing his voice.
Pearl, who was watching them, gave them a once over, before, finally, releasing her ghost ability and taking in some deep breaths, in hopes to regain some energy through the oxygen in the air. With the wolf now fully visible and the family watching it questionably, no one knew what to say.
The silence was eventually broken by Rosalie. "Who are you?" Directing her question towards the wolf shifter.
Pearl stood up and got off of the new born she had been hiding. Looking over her quickly to make sure that she was unharmed. When that was confirmed, she directed her attention to the blonde vampire. Staring at her intently.
