*Pearl's POV*

"Why not?!" I shouted in frustration.

"It's too dangerous." Carlisle responded, completely dismissing my idea and thought process.

"I'm the only one who even has a chance at slipping past them!" I argued. 'I have my gift at my disposal, they don't.' I thought.

"If you are caught, you will be killed." Jacob told me. "You're a threat. Sam ordered that you be killed on sight."

"I won against him once. I can do it again!" I said with determination.

"But this isn't an alpha fight." Seth said quietly.

"That's right. It's a pack fight. They will come at you all at once. You will be outnumbered." Jacob spoke up again.

"I don't care! I won't sit here and let my family starve!" I shouted at him. 'I won't allow it.'

"If she uses her gift, she may be able to get past them." Edward speaks up in my defence. Before I could get a chance to thank him, he adds, "But she shouldn't go alone."

"Oh hell no! I'll take the risk. No one else needs to." I tried to shut down his suggestion, but it was like no one could hear me. I wasn't using my gift, so I knew that they were just ignoring me.

"I'll go with her." Bree offered.

"Absolutely not!" I shout. 'I won't loose my imprint. She needs to stay here, where it's safe.'

"Pearl, she'd be the safest option. The wolves cannot harm her." Jasper said. Trying to convince me.

"I don't trust Sam's pack! Whose to say they won't just attack her for the sake of it! It will be easier if I go alone!" I protested.

Jacob looked at me offended. "The law is sacred. Your leech is the only one in this house that is perfectly safe from them." He said.

I let out a growl. "Don't call her that." I said in a threatening tone.

"Pearl" Carlisle drew my attention. "Do you honestly believe, that you can make it past Sam's pack safely? And, make it back with food, unharmed?" He asked in a serious manner.

"Yes. I can do this." I said with confidence. "Please let me try and help." I pleaded.

Carlisle gave me an intense look. He was worried. I understood that. But in my opinion, this was worth the risk.

Finally, Carlisle responded. "You can go, if you take Bree with you." Before I could protest, he continued. "You will need the extra hands. And as they said, she's the safest option."

I glared at him. Putting Bree in danger is against my very nature. I can see why he wants me to take her, out of everyone else, but I don't trust that pack. What if they don't follow the law? What if they do try to harm Bree? I don't know if I'll be enough to protect her...

I sighed at my internal debate. Bree isn't just my imprint who needs protecting, she's also a new born vampire that is still getting used to the vegetarian diet. She'll need to feed properly soon. And I doubt that draining a couple of dead corpses that I'll bring back will be able to satisfy her thirst. Perhaps hunting live animals is the best option for her...

But... it's still a huge risk. I can't loose her.

Bree interrupted my thoughts. "Pearl. Let me help you." She said, looking directly into my eyes.

*Time Skip, 3rd Person POV*

Pearl stood in her wolf form in the Cullen's backyard, Bree was on top of her back. They listened carefully for the Uley pack members, waiting for any sign of them and the direction that they might be in.

Hearing their heartbeats close by, Pearl makes the decision. Taking off into a fast sprint, she bolts into the tree line. Bree riding on her back and clinging onto her silver fur tightly. It didn't take long for them to start being perused. Initially, Pearl tried to simply outrun them, but seeing their strength and resilience, she resorted to the use of her gift.

Masking both her and Bree's scent, Pearl made them both invisible and broke away from their pursuers. With the girls disappearing, Sam's pack returned to the Cullens property, preventing anyone else from leaving the home.

This allowed Pearl and Bree to get far enough away to start their hunt. The two were determined to bring back food for their family. The Olympic Coven, was not going to starve.
