Chapter 60 (Wife & Husband At Odds)

*3rd Person POV*

Rosalie went with Carlisle to meet Bella and Edward at the airport. And immediately showed her support for the human's choice to keep the child. The ensuing argument between Rosalie and Edward was intense. The two vampires never faltered in their screaming match throughout the whole journey back home. Despite Carlisle trying to get them to stop, all his attempts went completely unheard by his two angry children.

Upon reaching the Cullen household it became clear to Bella very quickly, that the number of supporters she had, was very low, and that the majority of the family hated what her body was creating and wanted it destroyed. Bree and Rosalie seemed to be the only ones who were fully on her side. Pearl and Emmet didn't seem to be against her, but, they weren't voicing support for her either. So it was safe to say that they were of no help to the human.

With Rosalie's new found protectiveness of her sister in-law, the baby was allowed to grow inside of Bella over the next few days, because of the human's wishes. Carlisle checked her out, but was unable to penetrate the embryonic sac, and no ultra sound was able to see through the outer layer of protection the foetus had created. The vampire doctor, was left completely in the dark.

After Carlisle had ran every test he could think of and still was unable to come up with any solid answers as to what was happening, the coven convened in the living room for a family meeting.

"We need to get it out." Edward stated coldly.

"Not a chance!" Rosalie snapped at the mind reader.

"It's only been a few days and she already looks like she's a few months pregnant!" Edward snaps back.

"It's growing so fast." Carlisle commented in a concerned voice.

"The foetus is harming her!" Alice piped up.

"Baby, Alice! It's a baby!" Rosalie reprimanded.

"We don't know that for sure." Said Jasper.

"Well what else could it be." Bree quietly replied. While standing next to Rosalie and Bella to show her support.

Pearl stood off to the side alongside Emmet, they simply watched the argument unfold, not wanting to get involved.

"It's a killer!" Edward shouted out in frustration.

Pearl flinched slightly at his tone, but remained silent. Observing the commotion from the background.

"They're innocent!" Rosalie angrily shouted.

"Everyone needs to calm down. Shouting isn't getting us anywhere." Esme tried to get everyone to be civil with each other.

After the matriarchs words, the family went silent. Although no words were spoken, the tension between the two sides continued to rise.

The silence was eventually broken by Bella, who quietly yet firmly said, "I'm keeping them."

"You can't!" Edward protested immediately.

"She can! And she will!" Rosalie defended Bella.

"You heard her Edward. This is what she wants." Bree stated.

"Don't I get a vote?!" Edward shouted.

"You already gave your input!" Rosalie matches his volume.

"Stay out of this!" Edward yelled at the blonde.

"This involves all of us you dickwad!" The blonde responded in a hostile tone.

"ENOUGH!" Esme screeched, finally loosing her cool.

The two vampires fell silent at Esme's outburst. The matriarch of the family rarely ever raises her voice, especially like that. So when she does, it calls for everyone's immediate attention.

Esme sighed, then spoke softly to her family. "Edward, I think it's best if you take a walk. Perhaps go hunting to calm down." She suggested, but said it more like an order. She turned to her eldest daughter and continued speaking, "I understand your passion about this dear, but for the sake of Bella, can we please keep the screaming and yelling to a minimum?"

Rosalie merely nodded her head at Esme's words, then glared at Edward. Seeing her glare and reading her thoughts, Edward moved to shout and scream at her in anger, but got pulled away by Pearl. Who stepped forwards from the sidelines, and grabbed Edward's arm leading him outside into the forest, presumably to go hunting. In hopes to calm him down a little.

With Edward and Pearl now out of the house, Carlisle declared the meeting to be over, and left to do some more research on what they may be dealing with. Alice, Emmet and Jasper left to join the patriarch. Esme chose to leave to another room and take a breather once the meeting had ended. All of the shouting had really unnerved her, and she needed a moment of peace to calm herself down.

That left Rosalie and Bree by Bella's side. With the screaming match finally over, and all of those who were against her decision, gone. Bella broke down into tears. Completely overwhelmed and saddened by everyone's lack of care for her opinion. The two female vampires comforted the distraught human to the best of their abilities.
