*Pearl's POV*

After the whole thing with Jacob, we all went back inside the house. Well, everyone other than Leah and Seth, who decided that they wanted to go and see Sue instead.

Thinking of Sue as my 'mum' feels wrong. She abandoned me. She didn't want a screwed up daughter, so it just feels right to no longer class her as my mother.

Although, regarding the situation with my bio siblings, I'll have to have a conversation with them at some point.

Leah did save my life after all...

I guess I do kind of owe them a conversation.

I was broken from my thoughts when I felt my arm being nudged. Looking to my left, I saw Jasper staring at me. He had a look of concern on his face.

'Oh, he must've been reading my emotions.' I gave him a small smile and hoped that he wouldn't press for information. He usually doesn't, so I should be good.

Like I thought, Jasper didn't do anything else. He just sighed and turned his attention back to the centre of the room. Following his gaze, I laid my eyes on the couple, holding their daughter. Rosalie and Bree were sitting on the couch near Edward and Bella, watching the baby interact with its parents.

Bree hasn't spoken to me since I caught Seth and stopped him from hitting that tree. I wonder why? Maybe it's because she's so engrossed with the baby. I mean, she did fight for them the whole time Bella was pregnant. I guess it makes sense that she wants to be near them.

I fixed my eyes on little Renesmee and examined her from a distance. I've never been that fond of babies. Their constant crying and screaming can become quite annoying. I probably feel that way because of how much I enjoy silence. Any sounds that interrupts that, is just irritating to me, and babies are no exception.

But, I must admit, little Renesmee doesn't seem that bad. She hasn't cried yet, so that's a plus. And, I guess, she's kinda cute. I'm gonna attribute that to her vampire side though. Normal babies are fairly ugly, or at least, I don't see their beauty, their parents do, but I don't.

"Do you want to hold her, Pearl?" Edward suddenly asked me.

Panic! Panic! Panic! I don't know how to hold a baby! No way! I'll probably end up dropping her! And I don't wanna die today!

"Err... no thanks. I'm good." I muttered quietly, in as calm of a voice I could muster.

From the corner of my eye, I could see Jasper smirking at me.

'Fuck you, you Texan empath! Fucking emotion stalker!'

"She's not gonna hurt you Pearl. And I'm pretty sure you could win against a baby in a fight, right?" Jasper remarked in a teasing manner.

I growled at the empath and scowled at him. I really wanted to yell some profanity's at the Texan, but I'm pretty positive that Bella would kill me if I corrupted her child's innocence this early on in her life.

Growling was probably the wrong move, cause the baby turned their head to look at me from Edward's arms. She then reached her little hand up to Edward's cheek and he froze for a moment, then came towards me while carrying her.

'Woah woah woah. What's he doing?'

"She wants you to hold her." Edward said. It looked like he was trying to hold back a smirk while talking.

I just inquired simply. "Why?"

"She's an infant Pearl. She doesn't have an in depth reason as to why she wants you to hold her." Rosalie said in the form of a snarky comment.
