*3rd Person POV*
Pearl spent the next 2 days hiding out in her territory. Stuck in her fearful mindset, believing that she had just ruined everything by writing that letter.
Due to her being in flight mode, her gift was constantly active. Hiding her presence, scent and mind, wherever she went.
This made all the time she spent hunting quite easy. Pearl had shifted into her wolf form, from the moment she had arrived on her territory. And as such, chose to spend the whole time she was there as a four legged silver ball of fluff.
Desperate for a distraction from her own thoughts, Pearl ended up spending all her time when she wasn't hunting for her next meal, running laps around her territory's perimeter. Unable to rest her mind and body, for fear of allowing her mind to wander during a break, Pearl ended up exhausting herself. Pushing herself so hard, so soon after her recovery, led to her collapsing in her wolf form, by the lake on the 3rd day.
Laying by the still water of the lake let Pearl's anxiety reach its peak. Lacking the energy to get back up, Pearl had no choice but to lay down and wallow in her worries, whilst she regained her strength through resting.
Staring into the water, Pearl recalled the time she had swam in the lake, exploring her new found abilities by scouring the lake's floor. Despite the circumstances she was in at the time, that memory had become a fairly positive one for her. Shuffling to the embankment, Pearl lowered her wolf head into the water, so that she could once again, gaze at the lake's bottom. Admiring all of the many creatures that had made their home there.
Spotting a turtle swimming about 10 metres deep, Pearl couldn't help but wonder if it was the same one she had seen back then. The day she found out that she had become a Cold One.
Lifting her head from the water, she shook herself off to try and rid her fur of the damp feeling. Still laying down on her stomach, Pearl lowered her muzzle into the lake to get a drink. The cold water satisfied her throat in a different way to blood. It brought relief to a dry feeling in her throat. With no burn to quench (due to her incessant hunting), her throat felt instant relief.
All of her running had left her body quite dehydrated. So a simple sip of water, was all it took, to put her body at ease. Closing her eyes, Pearl focused on the feeling of the water going down her throat. Listening to the droplets that fell from her muzzle when she lifted her head. Sniffing the fresh breeze that sweeped over the waters surface and pushed her fur into her face. Allowing her body to be overcome by all of the senses, Pearl found that her mind was able to settle, for the first time since the wedding.
Letting a deep breath out of her nose, Pearl reopened her eyes and glanced back down at the lake to look at her reflection. The reflection of a silver wolf stared back at her, but it wasn't alone.
The reflective surface held the faces of all of the vampires she had fled from days prior. Snapping her head to the side in shock, Pearl came face to face with the Cullen Clan.
