That same afternoon , my Nana was coming over. She would be here before dinner, and before Mum got home.

I walked home wondering what had changed inside of me to have fallen for him...

I slammed the door hard and locked it.

I plugged my phone into the speakers , and started blaring The Smiths songs.

I picked up a pair of scissors .

I looked into the bath room mirror.

Red eyes, pale face, devilish smile.

I glanced at my wrists then at my reflection again.

" that won't change anything" I gulped.

I tied my curls up into a ponytail.

Louder, louder, louder!

I took a deep breath.

" you've always wanted it short anyway!" I yelled angrily.

And chopped it, or attempted to at least. It was so thick!

My hair lay limp in its pony tail on the bathroom cabinet.

I felt numb... My throat was killing me and my face hurt all over.

That afternoon ... until my Nana came over, I trimmed up my hair.

Chunks of my hair lay on the bathroom floor.

As itchy as it was being covered in hair and tears, my pixie cut was worth it.

I believe I had done an average job, cute side bangs, medium around the ears, although my hair still had its natural waves to it.

I had calmed down, my breathing was steady and I was feeling better.

Nana nearly had a heart attack when she saw me. But we laughed it off, and then we had tea...
