Chapter 65
I didn't really sleep well that night. Connie , Eve and Amelia stayed up the night talking. I closed my eyes and listened to their Bullshit but not paying too close attention. When ever the name Noodle was mentioned, I did my best not to jump and open my eyes rapidly.
The night drifted on and I fell asleep. Thank god I didn't need to go to the bathroom too, it was freezing out and we weren't really supposed to leave or cabin's...
There was a 6am wakeup call. I rolled out of my bunk and hit the floor.
"urghhh" I groaned. The lack of sleep and previous headache were making me exhausted.
I began to undress and change into my jeans and t... it was cold so I grabbed a jumper and headed up to the hall for breakfast.
I was hoping to avoid Noodle till the activities started.
I waited in the lines to get my toast and yogurt. I felt a hand on the back of my neck making my insides do backflips, I knew who it was ... fuck...
" go away!" I turned around holding my the back of my neck.
Noodle smiled at me. " what? Why are you angry at this hour in the morning?"
" cause, there's no sleep for the wicked ... apparently" I yawned.
" I see, you're a sleepy kitten now" he grinned and ruffled my hair, " you look like it too"
" urghhh fuck off would ya" I mumbled, " take your cards and go"
" cards?"
" don't worry" I groaned and turned around again.
" Nazz, please? I want to know what I've done wrong" he asked, I felt his hands on my shoulder. I could feel his thumbs circling my shoulders... god he was good.
" yeah... na. I mean" I brushed his hands off me. " I saw that odd game of cards you were playing last night... I can see how you treat us all different and all the same... I know you Noodle, my cheeks kinda hurt when I cry myself to sleep most night" I paused, " I hate watching... I hate how they know, and you know... and you do it right in front of me ..."
He paused... there was an instant drop in the atmosphere...
I turned around to him, our line hardly moved at all, the kids in the kitchen sucked at this, they were SO slow! I saw his eyes wildly staring at me, his piercing electric blue eyes were popping out of their dark lashes. His bottom lip dropped a little , his gazed fixated on me .
" yeah... what's wrong now?"
" you know you're on odd one" he said.
" and, that's it? That's supposed to fix everything, make it all better? Noodle you're a player... and I just.. fuck, go away" I said and our line finally moved forward. I stood away and walked off.
" Nazz, breakfast is nearly here?" called Noodle.
" not hungry anymore" I shrugged and kept walking, I grabbed a drink of juice and sat down.
I waited for the other 3 to come and sit down, I didn't have to wait long...
" so where's your breakfast, you were up here early" said Eve, sitting down with her cereal.
" yeah , well ... lost it I guess" I mumbled, putting my head in my arms which were on the table.
Connie sat opposite me , she could see I was some-how distraught.
She gave me a smile and kicked my leg.
" suck it up for now ok" she said quietly.
" fine" I grumbled.
We finished our meal and I walked back to get my backpack and head off to my activity.
Archery was going to be amazing. I was like the arrow master or whatever I wanted to believe... I was actually terrible at archery. Considering I wore contacts most days was a disadvantage, I had also chosen not to bring the contacts because I didn't really have the time to put them in. I had my glasses in my bag at all time.
I followed Connie up to the concrete area.
" now don't screw up your good fortune ok!" she told me, tapping at my arms and pulling me a little.
" I won't, hopefully..." I smiled.
I still couldn't believe that I was in his group... maybe I could change something this week...
Hopefully...
