. . .
"Dual soulmates are two tied souls that are far too similar to one another to truly live in coexistence.
They were originally to be soulmates but because of their similarities and clashing differences they would need something to counter and balance them out, a third, completely different soul.
A soul that was so starkly opposite the original two it was almost comical at the thought of them becoming one.
Soulmates are aware of each others exist from birth, often someone close to them be it familial, platonic, or romantic.
A soulmate can be anyone, that does not mean their relationship will develop into something akin to romance, simply a deep a connection from the soul, connecting the two together for all of eternity.
Some people have tried to deny their soul tie, trying to reject their soulmate simply out of spite, not believing in "fate" or wanting that predetermined fate being forced upon them.
An attempt at breaking or disconnecting your soul tie is a sin punishable by something worse than death, a torture far worse than a simple smite from the Gods.
You are forced to live with your soul tie completely intact, but never finding your soulmate.
Without your soulmate your soul will slowly and painfully wither away until you die of an incomplete soul.
The pain of living without your soulmate was worse than any sickness, worse than any illness, any loss you could ever imagine.
You can physically feel your soul breaking, something deep in your chest, depp in your heart wilting away around the edges, it's core pulsing slowly and harshly.
Breathing would become difficult, every intake of air a harsh and shaky experience, the pain of your lungs clenching in on themselves growing more and more unbearable until they eventually collapse in on themselves, resulting in death or having to live with a tube down your throat.
Even then, the punishment would continue, until you die alone without your soulmate.
What makes it far worse is that your soulmate feels everything you feel. When they feel that pain they know you've rejected your soul tie to them and they slowly die with you, having never met you or been with you but having to do through the exact same pain as until until their organs give out.
But for those that accept their soul tie, embrace it and seek out their soulmate, it's a giving experience.
Being able to see your soulmate is enough to make their heart beat just that tiny bit stronger, their mind to clear, their soul to sigh in content because it can feel that it's one true is there.
For those that become one with their soulmate, embrace each other in love and intimacy, a bond unbreakable by anything, not even the Gods, is what forms.
A deep seeded love in their souls, an embrace, a dance of emotions and thoughts, never out of sync, never overpowering the other. A beautiful sight to those that have experienced that feeling.
But dual soulmates...
Oh they are much more complicated, so many thoughts, so many emotions, so many conflicting things to deal with between three souls.
It was a complicated situation for anyone that had dual soulmates, there was never truly synchronization, there was always some kind of miscommunication but never, not once would dual soulmates claim to not know the other part of their soul.
Having a dual soulmate was almost like having another person constantly aware of how you felt or what you thought.
For some people that may sound like a lot but having a connection that deeply with a person was what made dual soulmates so unique.
They worked so perfectly together, although completely different with clashing personalities and ideals; they always seemed to somehow work together so well, always having similar thoughts, exactly what you would imagine a perfect tango to be like.
The thing that pointed them out the most to each other was their smell. All soulmates had a smell that's the favorite of their other half but dual soulmates have a mutual smell they all enjoy that only they can smell on each other.
Unless explicitly stated what the smell is, one would not be able to tell they have met their dual soulmate.
It got to a point where traditions and ceremonies were being made to help the process of finding dual soulmates, of that person just so happened to have one.
It was often said that if you had dual soulmates then you were incredibly blessed and good things would always come your way but it was also said that you would be dreadfully cursed, surrounded by death and violence, always destined to watch your loved ones die right before your eyes.
There's no way to prove any of these theories true or false, all events around dual soulmates are random or catered to their lifestyle.
Although inconvenient at times, dual soulmates are hoped for from most people, the feeling of happiness and euphoria you get while having dual soulmates was unmatched.
Although it may seem cruel to punish those that wish not follow the course of a premade fate, does it not seem cruel to the pour soul tied to the selfish individual? How that precious soul may feel knowing their one true has rejected them before ever having the chance to meet?"
"So I ask you Megara Russo, shall you accept your destined one in spite of your family or shall you be selfish for once in your life and find your own one true?"
. . .
A/n: Lore? Who do you think Megara is? And what do you think that question means? But let me ask you, what choice would you make?
