Chpt.20: "Compagnia inaspettata"

Third Person P.O.V

"Um.. Enid? Who is that?" Divina questioned cautiously, her eyes locked to the figure of the sleeping girl laying on the ground unconscious.

"That doesn't matter right now, we have to help Y/n.. just make sure she doesn't move" The lycan replied hastily, her focus completely on her... friend? Friend with benefits, in a sense? Something more, maybe. That was still very unclear to her.

Enid's worried eyes and hands look over Y/n frantically, she wasn't moving, and her skin was ice-cold. The shifter looked like she was barely breathing, but that was debunked by the subtle movement of her chest going up and down.

Her breaths seemed shallow and harsh, like she was struggling to breathe.

Just then, a pained noise was heard from the other side of the room, then shuffling and a groan. All attention snaps to the awakening girl as she sat up, clearly disoriented and in some kind of pain from the way she was clutching her head.

"Ugh.. where am I?" She mumbled to herself as she slowly blinked open her eyes, taking time to adjust to the lighting before looking around.

"Huh? Nevermore? How did I get back here?" She questions as she looks around, spotting a frightened Divina and a just as shocked Enid.

"W-who are you?" The girl asks in a tone of apprehension, her eyes narrowed in suspension at the two teens.

Just as that question is asked, the door to the dorm room is slammed open and standing there were Y/n's parents.

A look of shock took over James face, his eyes widening as he looks at the girl laying on the floor. "... Megara?" He calls in disbelief, tears pricking at the corners of his eyes.

He looks around the room for a moment, gaze falling down to Y/n who still laid motionless on the floor. "Y/n!" He calls in deep concern, falling to the floor next to his daughter and talking her pal,cold face in his hands.

"Y/n?" Megara says in disbelief, looking between the older man and the girl barely breathing on the floor. "J-james?" She says in pure shock, disbelief  at what she was seeing. "What.. what's happening.." The young woman says in fear, her eyes looking around the room quickly for a threat, landing on the woman standing in the door. "Gabriella? How is.. why are you.."

Gabriella freezes, a shaky hand flying to her mouth in shock as she gazes at Megara. "What.." the older woman walks up to the young ravenette, hands shaking as she cups the younger girls cheek in her hand hesitantly, as if in disbelief of what she was seeing.

"You're.. you're here.. how are you here.." Tears pull to Gabriella's eyes before a sob is ripped from her throat as she throws her arms around Megara, hugging her tightly as if she would disappear.

On the other side of the room, Y/n still laid nearly unconscious, her breathing shallow as beads of sweat begin forming on the crown of her head. James was kneeled near his daughter in deep concern, hands shaking as he takes her cold cheeks into his hands. "La mia preziosa ragazza.. my little Y/n.." He cries softly, looking at his daughter with sorrowful eyes.

The air in the room felt stagnant, as if time had frozen and everything outside the room stood still in this moment. For all that were there, an impending sense of doom struck them all and a voice began to echo in each persons mind.

"The curse of my people ring true, should you conceave with my son your child shall suffer the consequences and when the comet of King Cerphus passes in fortnight, you shall know the wraith of our people!"

Dread fills the room for a moment before a harsh gasp cuts through, followed by dry heaving and coughing. "Somebody get water quick!" Calls James as he pats Y/n's back, the girl finally breathing again, no longer blue in the face.

Enid is quick to follow the request, already having a cold water bottle on stand-by should Y/n wake up at any moment. A moment of tender silence surrounds them all as James sits her up and Enid uncaps the water, helping Y/n take small slow sips as her father soothingly rubs her back.

"Um did anyone else hear the crazy lady speaking or am I going crazy?" Divina questions with a raised hand, glancing around the room awkwardly as nobody answers.

"I heard it.." Comes quietly from the other side of the room, all heads snapping to Megara who was still at Gabriella's side. "That was Aurum's mother, my mother in law so to speak.." the girl awkwardly laughs, though quickly clear sher throat when it gains no reaction.

"Right.. there's much to discuss, first we should make sure Y/n is alright and stable and get Megara somewhere more comfortable.. I'm sure she's been through a lot to be here.." Gabriella says, breaking the tension in the room.

Megara steps forward once more, at the mention of Y/n. "Is that truly Y/n, my Y/n?" She questions softly to James, who was still crouched at Y/n's side,his back to his sister. "Yes." Is the short, simple answer he gives, a hint of resentment in his tone.

Megara shrinks back, her hand clenching at her chest. She wanted to badly to drop down by his side, take her baby brother into her arms, take her daughter into her arms and simply embrace and feel.

Enid, sensing the tension growing once more turns to Divina, gesturing with her hand to the door and Divina nods in understanding. "Divina and I are going to go let Wednesday know, maybe her family can help out.. being Addams and all.." Enid suggests, already making her way to the door with Divina hot in her tail.

"Brilliant idea Sinclair, tell her to inform her mother, she'll be a great help." Enid nods and gives Gabriella a salute with two fingers before leaving the room. Of course she truly didn't want to consider Y/n's recent awakening but the tension in the room felt like way too much.

The more she learns about Y/n's family, the more she feels familiar. Like someone she's met before.

A/n: I am so so sorry for such a long wait and such a short ass chapter, life has been all over the place and I've been going through a lot of mental challenges that have really been testing me and my resolve. I'm in a much better place now and can actually focus my mind enjoy to give y'all something lol so expect more to come. The plot is about to start getting THICK so buckle up.
