I sat on the ground, watching Morro pull Charlie away. I looked at the door, watching it slowly close in the distance from between Seliel's legs. She stood right in front of me, blocking my eyes from meeting Charlie's.

I stared ahead with my eyes half closed. I couldn't think straight. I couldn't see straight. All I could do was sit there paralyzed, and observe. I felt my head pulsate as if my heart was placed in my skull, beating rapidly. I could feel my temples throbbing. My head hurt so much. Everything was blurry for a moment and my hair wasn't helping me see either.

I exhaled. I pushed my bangs back with my right hand, watching my digits tremor extensively. I bent my legs to stand up, leaning all my weight back onto my spine against the elevator doors. I finally stamped my boot on the ground and prodded my left elbow in the metal behind me as I stood tall.

It was silent. I looked at Seliel, seeing her stand still as the blood from her shoulder wetted her pretty dress and brushed, gold locks.

The same coloured liquid still oozed out of my nose too. I put my hand through my hair, pressing my hand over my forehead and ignoring my numb nose. I groaned, shutting my eyes for a quick second.

"Does it hurt?" Seliel's voice finally reached my deafening ears.

I looked down, peeking my hooded eyes open enough to look into her cold, icy-blue eyes as she stood a meter away from me.

I blinked, feeling dizzy. Suddenly, my knee jolted, striking me with a sharp pain up my entire leg. I razed back onto the ground on all fours, stumbling. I gritted my teeth, letting a few grunts slip from between my shut teeth. I opened my eyes wider, trying to see. I shook my head gently, pushing myself off my palms and back onto my knees. I looked at my trembling arms, sitting on my knees with my hips over the heels of my thick boots. I presented myself as dazed to Seliel, noticing the dagger that Morro had knocked out of my hand. It laid on the ground to my right, an arms length away from me.

Seliel sighed. "Cole, Cole, Cole." She stepped back, sitting down on her right knee in front of me. "Why is it so hard to kill you? You're clearly very troublesome."

"Do you ever shut up?" I looked at her, glowering. I instantly picked up the dagger, intending to impale her other shoulder.

She clenched my wrist with her left hand, pushing against my dominant hand without flinching nor hesitating.

"I know your every move, babe." She watched me shiver, straight faced.

"Tch–" I grunted, trying to push harder.

"Besides, you're so weak right now." She pushed her right hand against my chest, pushing me back down, off of my knees.

My hips touched the tiles on the ground, my legs opening in front of me. I placed my left palm on the cold floor behind me as she continued to apply force on my body. I kept my eyes locked on her every motion, alert by her intentions. She slinked her knees between my legs, pulling the dagger out of my grasp from its blade.

Shit.

She was right. I wasn't exactly physically weak, but my thrumming head and double vision was really making it difficult for me to function. It seemed equivalent to weakness at that moment. If I hadn't done something that would catch her off guard, there was no way I was easily going to be able to get past her with that dagger in her possession. And I had to get away instantly. Who knew what Morro was doing to Charlie in there. After hearing her stories, seeing those wounds and tears, there was no way I was going to let him do something again. She wasn't safe. I felt threatened knowing she was unprotected.
