"Again?" I slowly turned my head back to look at Seliel.
I heard her shoes click on the ground as she followed behind us.
"That would be too boring, don't you think?" I listened to her voice as 004 nudged the AR-15 against my spine. He shoved his digits in my hair, forcing me to look ahead.
I looked down. I stepped into the room as 001 led me in, holding the door for us. I looked at Amiya, the girl who had the controls over what would happen to me in the glass room. She stared at me, her brown eyes revealing a consternated look as her shoulders shuddered before she faced her back towards me. It seemed like she didn't want to be there to harm me, but just like me, she didn't have much of a choice.
Clink.
003 pushed me into the 'torture chamber'. He shut the transparent door on me as I turned to face him.
I watched the guards step back and stand straight. I looked at them for a moment, my eyes drifting to the gun in their hands before I slowly turned my body to face towards the front.
It was silent.
I listened to my heartbeat trying my best to keep it in control. I squinted, still adjusting to the bright lights above me. My feet slowly dragged against the cold floor as I walked towards the center.
"Start it." Seliel looked at Amiya, crossing her arms without any thought.
I stayed silent, knowing yelling for mercy wouldn't do anything against a black hearted demon. I stared into her eyes, her image blurring as my focus changed to the glass wall between us. I remembered myself banging my fist against the thick glass last time. My blood was still on it.
It was all just like last time. Only difference was, I wasn't going to burn. I didn't know what other things the 'torture chamber' was capable of. I didn't know what Seliel was going to do, but whatever it was, I wasn't going to give in. I wasn't going to scream. I didn't want Charlie to hear me. I didn't want to hurt her. I didn't want to be the one who brought tears to her eyes. If she could hold it all in to see a smile on my face, I could do the same to keep her from frowning.
Vmmmm.
My thoughts dispersed as I flinched to the sudden sound. I looked down, feeling the cold floor against the sole of my foot. I clenched my fist, my digits wrapped into my palm.
Cold?
I stared at the ground. It then hit me.
Of course.
The only other thing you could have done in a temperature box was to change the temperatures either too high or too low. That's what she was going to do differently, huh? Freeze me instead of burn?
"Ten degrees." Amiya's voice echoed in the empty, dark room.
I looked up at Seliel, my forehead sweating as my heart beat anxiously.
Don't think, don't think...
I didn't want to remember last time. Not the pain. Not the screaming. Not the blood.
"Not gonna ask me to stop?" Seliel broke my chain of thought.
"No." I whispered, condensation blurring my view as it slipped my lips. I raised my hand, closing all my fingers but the middle one.
