It was silent.

They both stared at one another.

Overnight, as soon as Charlie's temperature had returned closer to what it normally was, Cole had helped her back to her corner so that she could wake up in ease. He thought it would have been awkward for her to be in his lap.

She had just opened her eyes a few minutes ago and sat up to see herself all bandaged up. This time, she was in her senses. She realized her bruises and wounds seemed relatively clean from blood and dirt. She knew it was him. He was the only one who could have done so much to help. Charlie was thankful for Cole but also terrified of what she must have said to him last night. She wasn't in her senses a few hours ago. It was the drugs speaking. She was high.

"Are you feeling better?" Cole extended his legs out, putting his hands in his lap.

"Yeah." Charlie cleared her throat, pushing her legs out in front of her.

She winced while doing so. All the things Morro did to her that night made it difficult for her to move, but she was strong. She endured the stinging pain she felt from inside her. There was still a wound inside, but lucky for her, it had stopped bleeding. Although, it bothered her a lot that she had no pants on. She was constantly trying to cover herself from Cole, afraid to be sitting right in front of him. She knew he wouldn't look though, but she was still embarrassed.

She rubbed her neck, just over the fading teeth mark. "I'm okay."

She bit her lower lip, thinking to herself.

'I told him everything. How could I have let such embarrassing things slip out of my mouth. I can't even get myself to look at him anymore. I'm such an idiot. That was very ridiculous of me. How weak. How pathetic. And what the hell is this stupid situation with no freaking pants? That's gonna be hella embarrassing for the rest of my time here. Thank God I had my legs waxed before I was kidnapped. I woulda killed myself if he saw my hairy legs.'

Cole looked at Charlie. "A-And your arm?" he muttered, a bit hesitant.

She stared at him, recalling how Morro reopened her cut. She looked at her arm, seeing the perfectly tied, fresh gauze. She slipped her right hand into her shirt from her side, feeling plastic bandages on her thigh too. Clips of Morro's torturing and Cole's gentle touches merged in her head, confusing her a bit. She blinked to forget it all, wondering where the bandages came from. How had he managed to do all of that? She was almost completely patched up.

"When you were brought back, 001 gave me some supplies." Cole looked down, realizing he had been staring her down when she returned while she was unconscious and had unintentionally touched her in places he probably shouldn't have. "S-Sorry. I didn't mean to pry like that, I just–"

The girl chuckled.

"Stop apologizing everytime you lay a hand on me. I'm alright with it." She smiled, her dimples sinking into her face.

She had only just woken up but was already at the step of forgetting and moving on. She had a clear conscious; keeping everything optimistic for both of their sakes.

Cole looked at her.

"We need to help each other." She mumbled, closing her eyes.

"Yeah." He looked at her.
