OMEGAVERSE, also known as A/B/O (an abbreviation for "alpha/beta/omega"), is a subgenre of speculative erotic fiction, and originally a subgenre of erotic slash fan fiction. Its premise is that a dominance hierarchy exists in humans, which are divided into dominant "alphas", neutral "betas", and submissive "omegas".This hierarchy determines how people interact with one another in romantic, erotic and sexual contexts.
HEAT: When pre-heat ends, the Omega goes immediately into heat. Heat lasts from 4-7 days, and begins with fever, mild cramping, increased slick, and increased pheromone production. The increased pheromones are biology's way of luring mates, and it signals to any Alphas in the area that the Omega is fertile.
Suppressant: pills that an omega can take to reduce the intensity of a heat or stop it entirely. Also birth control, a pills that omega take to not get pregnant.
RUT: Rut is the overwhelming need to breed. Alphas generally go into rut every three months, though with a bonded Omega mate, their ruts may align with their Omega partner's heats. Ruts tend to make Alphas more aggressive toward any other Alphas who might come near their Omega/bond-mate.
OMEGAVERSE pregnancy: In omegaverse omega can get pregnant by an alpha or beta. But in this world that I am making alpha's can get pregnant too.
