Lauren Holness
a few hours earlier...

"Lauren." Solana drawled out.

"Yes?"

"Go out with me."

"What?"

"Go on a date with me." She repeated.

"No."

"Athena said you could take the day off."

I looked at her.

"Did she really?"

"Well her exact words were," she cleared her throat. ""I don't give my workers day offs." but I'm sure she'll change her mind about it so it's not really that much big of a deal."

I looked at Solana like she was crazy.

Yes, it was her sister and she knows her better than I do but I don't want to play with my life.

"Solana, no."

Solana pouted.

"Please."

"Why do you want to go out with me?" I folded my arms and raised my eyebrows.

"Because," she drawled out. "you're really pretty and you have a nice personality. It wouldn't hurt to get to know you more."

I didn't fully believe her but whatever.

I'm still not going.

"No and my answer is final, Solana. I'm sorry."

Solana groaned.

"Fine, I'll get her official consent."

"That'll make me feel better, thank you." I told her truthfully with a smile.

Solana nodded.

"Also, don't... clean the throne room. I'll get someone else to do it." Solana told me.

"Why are you stopping me from doing my job?" I asked her.

"Trust me, you don't want to. It's bad."

I took her word for it and nodded and changed my direction and headed to the janitors closet. Usually, I'd be cleaning the throne room and then afterwards, getting Athena her lunch so I guess with the free time that I have I'll spend it with London.

I should really tell London about Athena being my mate.

Hear how funny that sounds?

I'm not telling her, not yet at least.

I brought the cleaning equipments back and then headed to the kitchen. I saw London rocking her hips to a song that Sebastian sang in "The Little Mermaid".

"Really?" I laughed.

She shook the can of beans and her hips in the same direction and grinned at me.

London opened the can and poured it into the frying pot and stirred it.

This girl.

"Aren't you supposed to be cleaning right now?"

"Yes but Solana told me that she'd get someone else to do it."

"Solana?" She repeated and stopped dancing. "you're on first make basics now?"

I laughed.

"Do you... like her?" London inched closed to me.

"Like who?" I jumped at the voice and turned to look at Emily.

"Miss Solana."

"What?" Emily's eyes widened and she looked at me. "You like Miss Solana?"

"Guys, no I don't."

"Yes she does. Miss Solana allows her to call her by her first name." London smirked and I puffed out my cheeks.

"It's not like that!"

"It definitely is! I can see you turning a bit red there, friend." Emily smirked and I glared at her.

"Ugh! I'm going to recruit new friends."

They laughed and Emily sat down beside me on one of the stools.

We made a conversation whilst London made whatever she was making, the head chef and another chef coming to join her. Turns out, they were making lunch for the trainees.

"Samson, tell the donors get donating." The head chef instructed the other chef and he nodded and left the kitchen, sparing Emily a glance.

She looked away, her cheeks becoming slightly red.

What's with these people and their fascination with each other in the work field?
