My phone rung and I glanced down at the caller as I drove onto the road that led to the castle.

"Yes, nurse?" Solana glanced at me and I put the phone on speaker and placed it on the middle console.

"She's awake and she's asking for you, your highness." My heart picked up its pace and I overtook the SUV and parked the car carelessly as I got out.

I used my speed to arrive at the infirmary, going to Lauren's room.

I arrived at the door and I saw her.

"Your highness, she'll be here soon. Please calm down." The nurse said as she looked at Lauren in worry.

Lauren saw me and her figure visibly relaxed. The nurse rushed out of the room and I couldn't take my eyes off of her.

She's awake.

After I was just told she was going to die.

She is awake.

I sped towards her, engulfing her in a hug. Lauren giggled and she wrapped her arms around me.

"I'm here, I'm here." She muttered.

I pulled back from the hug and looked at her. She looks healthy, like she wasn't on her death bed not too long ago.

I let the thought of her ever dying leave my mind as I brought her in for another hug and inhale her scent.

Lauren pulled back from the hug and she looked me in the eyes. She blinked and her eyes went black for a minute before they went back to their brown color.

You know that moment when you're reading a book and the obvious is there and the main character ignores it?

I am having one of those moments- except, I'm not going to be oblivious to the obvious.

"I have three questions, baby." I told her as I placed my hand on her soft cheeks. Lauren stared into my eyes lovingly and all I could do was smile.

"Can't they wait until later? I'm tired."

One.

"Please." I pouted.

Lauren's eyes softened and she nodded.

"Go on."

Two.

"What is my favorite color?"

"Red, silly." She giggled.

"What's the name of your rabbit?"

"Sebastian. What's with the silly questions?"

"What does my spine tattoo mean?"

"Fu-"

Before she could react, I had her arms held behind her back with one of my hand and the other tilting her neck to the side.

"One reason why I shouldn't drain you right here, right now." I hissed and Lauren smirked.

"If you do, it hurts my daughter. I don't think you'd want that."

Her eyes flickered black and she overpowered me. Ophelia pushed her head back with force, her head connecting with my nose. I groaned and that caused my grip to loosen on her.

She pushed me back and turned to look at me.

She was using Lauren's body as a host.

Ophelia smirked.

"You're smart. How'd you pick up on it?"

"The eyes and your responses." I growled.

"Ophelia is here." I told Solana through our blood bond. "She's using Lauren's body as a host."

"Huh, I guess her mind betrayed me. I used what you told her."

"I knew you wouldn't think before saying the first thing that came to mind. That was what I told her at first but that's not what it means." I sped towards her and Ophelia stopped the blow that was coming to her face, turning my fist, but I turned in her grip and gave her an uppercut instead.

I am so sorry, Lauren.

Seeing that the punch took her off guard, I casted a spell to keep her frozen in place.

Lauren's body stayed in place, her face morphed into one of pain.

"You can't do this to me." Ophelia growled angrily. Even though her body was frozen, her eyes and lips were allowed to move.

Solana bursted through the door and she looked at Lauren.

"It won't hold her for long before she knows how to break free. Get Amoya and the others." I told Solana and I strengthened the enchantment.

Ophelia groaned and I teleported us down to the chambers. I chained her down to the chair and sighed.

Fuck, why did she have to use this body?

"Baby, if you're hearing me, I'm sorry."

I didn't feel the strength of the mate bond anymore. It was there but it was faint.

A pink portal formed behind Ophelia and Amoya and Venice stepped through.

"I came as soon as I heard- Lauren?"

"Not Lauren but Ophelia. She's possessing her body. My only guess is that Ophelia's body is somewhere unconscious right now." I said as I folded my arms.

Ophelia's black eyes stared into mine. They held nothing but darkness.

"LET ME GO!"

"I'm afraid that isn't possible." Amoya said as both her and Venice came and stood beside me. "Fuck, she looks like a mess."

Dark veins started to sprout from her skin and they trailed up her arms and legs and to her eyes.

"Ergreifen." Amoya held her hand out to Lauren- Ophelia and she screamed out. The veins went away and Ophelia thrashed in the chains. (Seize)

"How'd you get out from Eternia?" I asked her.

"Like I'd tell you anything!" She yelled and I sighed.

Amoya stretched her hand out to Lauren and fire came from her palms and burned her thigh. I slapped her hand away and glared at her. Ophelia screamed out in pain and thrashed around.

"What the fuck are you doing?"

"Inflicting pain so that she can answer our questions."

"Whether we like it or not, that is still Lauren." I snapped. "We get our answers without harming Lauren's body."

Amoya sighed.

"And if she doesn't say anything?"

I glanced at Ophelia who had her head down as she panted.

"She'll break eventually."
