The witch that was helping Ophelia was killed by the hands of Athena Kings.
Emily Lovato.
The same day of Ophelia's execution, she came forward and confessed to everything that she did. Athena didn't give her a second more to think as she sped towards her, pulling her heart from her ribcage and watch the life drain from her eyes.
Three years later and the humans were ecstatic about the change.
Athena had fulfilled one of Lauren's wishes- end the system and combine everyone. It took some time for the council to came on board with the idea but Athena wasn't giving up until they had all agreed. Some would say they agreed out of pity and some would say out of understanding.
It has been three years since the death of Lauren and not a day has passed where Athena didn't water the flowers planted on her- roses. It was the first ever flowers that Athena had even given her and they were the last she received.
The roses were planted where all over her body, beside and beyond. There was a tombstone at her head which showed where her body was beyond the numerous roses.
London came out of the car and dusted down her dress. She held her daughter's hand as they went to the back in the direction of Athena's garden.
Today marks three years since Lauren Holness has passed. No one referred to her as Ezra.
London held the bouquet of roses in her palm tightly. That was the only flowers Athena wanted Lauren to receive. Athena knew of her love for roses and she wanted them to forever be her favorite.
"Mommy, are we going to see aunty Lauren today?" Her daughter asked as she stared at her mother with her big, bright blue eyes.
London smiled and nodded.
"Yes, honey. We're going to give her flowers and talk to her like we do every year." Due to London moving, visiting Lauren every month was not in her schedule like she had planned.
With her being Luna of the werewolf nation now, she had responsibilities and duties to attend to, a mate to help, a pack to care for and a daughter to look after.
London and her daughter approached the area where Athena was already, of course. Athena sensed her before she saw her and didn't move as she kneeled in the dirt of the garden with a small shovel in her hand.
She had just finished weeding the weeds that had started to sprout. Athena didn't even let them get to two inches tall before she was pulling them out.
London stood beside Athena with her daughter on her opposing side. Her daughter placed the small bouquet of roses she had in her hand on the dirt. Athena's magic instantly planted it.
Whenever someone would place a rose down in honor of Lauren, the flower would immediately be planted and attended to by magic. Athena didn't want a single rose dying.
"Hi, aunty Thena!" London's daughter said.
Athena smiled.
"Hello, Ezra."
Ezra smiled at her aunt before greeting Lauren. Her speech wasn't all perfect but what she was saying was clear as day.
Athena gave them some privacy as she went to take the dirty gloves off and placed the shovel down. In the meantime, London and Ezra spoke to Lauren, Ezra telling her about the butterfly that they saw today and it had the colors of the rainbow.
Athena watched from afar and smiled a bit.
Even with Lauren gone, she still has a family.
The human one was gone- dead.
Athena had killed them one night out of anger on the first year of Lauren's death.
Athena felt her sister's presence and she glanced at her. Solana held a bouquet of red roses in her palm and Lily came beside her. Lily was three months pregnant with a hybrid baby. Athena was the first hybrid in the longest and now the second hybrid was going to be Lily and Solana's baby.
Due to the human world mixing with the supernatural, halflings were now a thing.
Lauren would've been so happy to see how the world has evolved. This was what she wanted and Athena fulfilled it, made it come through.
Even though it pained Athena that she wouldn't be able to fulfill her dying wish, she was still going to be doing everything in her name to make sure that Lauren wishes come through.
