I spent a few more minutes with Athena before I told her that I was going to go downstairs to look for London. She didn't hesitate to say yes.

I entered the kitchen and London looked at me almost instantly.

Her eyes widened slightly.

"Lauren! Oh my god! I was so worried." She said and ran to hug me. I hugged her back and she tightened her arms around me. I smiled at her worry and the other two workers that was there with her smiled at us.

London pulled back and she examined my face and then she hugged me again.

I giggled and hugged her once more.

The other workers left and London and I sat down on the stools facing each other.

"How are you healed? Where were you? I checked the hospital and you weren't there and no one saw you." London asked with a worried look sketched onto her face.

"Athena healed me." I told her. "She has... healing properties." I added.

Healing properties?

Really?

Do you know how funny that sounds?

London looked at me in confusion.

"Her blood can heal." I rushed out.

"And you drank her blood?" I nodded.

London nodded slowly.

"She had me in her room. I woke up yesterday but then we spent time together and I fell asleep with her."

"Spent time with together?" She repeated my words and I laughed and nodded.

"Yes. She's actually... nice. She apologized for how she treated me and asked for a second chance and forgiveness."

London's eyebrows raised.

"And why aren't you working?"

"Day off."

"Didn't she say she doesn't gives day offs?" London raised her eyebrows with a smirk.

"I'm sure it's just a one-time thing. I mean, I was almost beaten to death."

London gave me a look and I smiled sheepishly at her. We both knew it wasn't going to be a one-time occurrence. With me giving Athena a chance, who knows what benefits comes with that chance?

Lauren currently didn't have a meal preparing so we spoke in her free time about random stuff and her getting my hopes up with Athena.

Athena Kings

With Lauren gone, I didn't have anything to do. I had already spread the bed and did whatever she was "supposed" to do.

The previous day was amazing. I don't regret pushing my pride aside and apologizing to her. Lauren have proved to be my true destined and I was grateful it was her. If I was in her shoes, I wouldn't have given me a chance because of the bed treatment I received but she decided to push that aside and give me a chance with her.

A gem, that's what she is.

The ringing of my phone pulled me from my thoughts and I looked at the caller and answered it.

"Mateo!" I greeted.

"Athena." I could hear the wolfish grin in his voice and I sighed.

"How can I help you?"

"I'm coming over in two days." He informed me. "We're going to discuss the last council meeting because someone decided that they weren't going to attend."

I folded my lips.

"Is it important?"

"Yes."

"Okay then. I'll see you." I was about to tell him goodbye but he called out to me.

"Have my favourite dish prepared?"

"Get the fuck off my phone." I muttered and hung up.

Mateo knew no hard feelings so I didn't worry about how he'd be feeling. I threw my phone down on the bed and decided to go for my mate.

I wanted her company.

I found her with her friends, London, and I excused Lauren from rje space, placing my hand on her lower back and pushing her out of the kitchen gently.

"Yes?" She drawled out and turned to me.

"I miss you."

Her eyes widened slightly and her heart picked up it's pace.

"Take a walk with me?"
