Days went by with studying and charging up for the next round of classes. It was unfortunate that it also made it hard to meet up with Hermione, Ron, and Harry. She got little information about how it was going for them aside from what she during Potions.
There was one thing that changed over the days though. Pansy was true to her word. She didn't milk it out and did what she said. Hermione said that Pansy was nowhere near them anymore when Draco appeared. Amelia could say she was warming up to Pansy.
Daphne wasn't all too surprised when Amelia explained everything that happened. She already suspected something. Still, even Daphne didn't expect an apology from her so quickly. Then again, neither Amelia nor Daphne had much time to contemplate with their heads in books and their quills moving over parchment.
Amelia was getting cramps in her hands from writing the essays.
"I wish they didn't put so much effort in making us write essays with certain lengths. It's not difficult to write in a concise and dense manner," Amelia mumbled irritable, shaking her hand to relieve some pain and strain before continuing.
"Tell me about it," Daphne grumbled from the other side of the room. "I half expect my hand to fall off from the amount of writing- Oh, thank you, Daisy! You're a life saver."
Buzz!
Daisy flew around with a floating kettle from Daphne to Amelia, filling their cups with fresh tea. Amelia will have to think about a reward for Daisy. The fairy has been nothing but supportive as they work on their homework and essays.
"Thanks, Daisy. You're the best Fairy in existence," said Amelia as she sipped her tea, sighing contently while leaning back.
Daisy buzzed knowingly as she flew around the room, putting the kettle away. She remained airborn to observe the two, almost like a mother that kept a stern watch.
The only upside was the lack of homework for DADA. Well, there was homework, but it was on a level so far beneath them, Amelia hardly had to spent any time on it. And she did what Daphne had asked of her. She suffered through whatever Umbridge asked of them. The only thing was that she never read the book during classes.
To ensure she was doing something worthwhile, she bewitched her other books to look just like the DADA book. That way, she was at least doing something that helped her reach her desired OWLs. After all, to beat Hermione, she needed every moment to be used optimally.
"I wonder how things are going with Hermione and the others," Amelia said as she took a break from her work. "I have hardly had the time! This year is brutal."
"You did that yourself, y'know. Hermione asked me more than once how you're doing," said Daphne, swirling around to face Amelia. "She looked rather lonely too. I think she misses you."
"Ugh, I miss her terribly too," sighed Amelia. "Well, tomorrow is a Saturday! I won't touch my homework and seek out Hermione," she added as if announcing a new law.
Daphne laughed, shaking her head amusedly. "Good, you look like you could use some sun on your skin."
"Not sure whether that's gonna help. I never really got a tan," said Amelia with a chuckle. "I just get burned."
"Ah, well, then be careful with your porcelain skin. Anyway, we're pretty on schedule so a break doesn't sound too bad to me," said Daphne. "We only have..." she leaned forward to scan her essay. "... three more inches to write on this charms essay. Not difficult."
"True... well, let's enjoy the Friday then. We can always finish the lovely essay during the Weekend."
It was sarcastic yet she can't deny she enjoyed certain topics. The essay was about the growth and the Colour-Change charm. A pair of charms very identical to one another yet drastically different in their effect. Flitwick certainly knew how to pick a difficult topic for an essay.
