The Flower and Major

Part 32

I was sitting outside on the hood of Edward's Volvo sketching. My head snapped up as Bella and Edward practically stormed out of the house in a heated argument. 

"I'm not just gonna hide, while you're taking all the risks for me." Bella snapped.

"You'll have Lily." Edward sighed. "If it is Victoria involved. We need to keep the both of you as far away from the fight as possible." 

"Jasper said that I could be of help." Bella protested.

"We don't need either of your help." Edward says shooting me a look. "With the Wolves in this, it's an easy win. The rest of us, aren't gonna have enough to do." 

I sent him a glare flipping him off. Bella rolled her eyes at the both of us. 

"Okay, either it's so dangerous that we have to hide... or it's so easy, that you're gonna be side blind, which is it?" Bella questioned. 

"It's dangerous for you." Edward stated. "It's easy for us." 

"I think it's dangerous for us to be apart." Bella says. "How many times do we have to prove that? I'll be worrying. You'll be worried. And we'll both feel more horrible." 

"Okay, you're right." Edward sighed. 

"So, I'm coming with you." Bella says triumphant. 

"Think again, Isabella." I say not looking up from my sketchbook. "He's going to sit out with us." 

"I can't make him choose between us and his family." Bella protested.

"The only way I can protect you, is to be with you." Edward says. "Jasper knows that Lily can protect herself."

I stood in Jasper's arms with Bella and Edward. We're in the center of the clearing. Maggie had stood several paces behind us. 

"You're not fighting?" Jacob asked. "What, you pull a muscle or something?"

"Dude, I don't think vampires can pull muscles." Paul rolled his eyes. 

"He's doing it for me." Bella says. "Okay?" 

Jake looks between the four of us and shakes his head.

"Whatever." Jacob huffed.

"Just tell us the plan." Paul says.

"This field will give us an advantage in battle." Maggie says. "We need to lure the newborns here with the Twins' scents. It needs to end here." 

"Bells, Edweirdo and I are going on a campsite." I say. "Even if they carry us, they'll pick up our scents." 

"Your stench, however, is revolting." Edward adds. 

"Dude, you really want to start comparing stinks?" Jake snapped causing Paul to grip his shoulder yanking him backwards.

"What he means, is that your scents will mask ours if you two carry us." Bella rolled her eyes.

"Done." Jake said a little too eagerly. 

"This isn't a good idea." Edward moaned.

"Edward." Jasper sighed. "They won't want to get anywhere near their odors." 

"Okay, lets just try it." Bella says.

I ran over to Paul jumping onto his back. He grunted but caught me with ease. Jacob picked Bella up with a stupid grin on his face. 

"Eau de wolf, comin' up." Jacob says.

"Run." Edward says.

I giggled gripping onto Paul as he took off into a run into the trees. We were running in silence for a bit before I spoke up.
