Part 27

I sat on the sofa at the Cullen house between Carlisle and Jasper. Emmett was sitting on the back of the couch on Carlisle's other side. We were all watching the news with deep frowns.

"Seattle is a state of terror." The news-reporter stated. "Police are baffled by the escalating murder and disappearances. Theories range from a viscous new gang to a wildly active serial killer reporting live Dawn Chubai, CNN."

"It's getting worse." I whispered.

"We're going to have to do something." Carlisle sighed.

"It takes more than one of our kind to cause the damage they're reporting." Jasper stated pulling me closer to his side. "Quite a few more. They're undisciplined, conspicuous..."

"Newborns." Edward says causing me to look over at him and Bella.

"What like, new vampires?" Bella asked, confused.

"In their first few months after change." Edward says to her.

"That's when we're at our most uncontrollable, vicious, insane with thirst." Jasper added.

"Something for the both of you to look forward to." Emmett smirked at us.

"No one has trained these newborns, but this isn't random." Jasper says.

"Do you think someone might be creating an army?" I asked looking up at Jasper.

Jasper nodded grimly looking into my eyes. I bit my lip slightly. This just got a hell of a lot more dangerous.

"Oh, now we're definitely going to Seattle." Emmett says excitedly.

"An army of vampires?" Bella asked causing me to playfully roll my eyes. She's slow sometimes Eddie.

Edward gave me an amused look before turning his attention to his girlfriend.

"And they've been created to fight someone." Jasper explained to her.

"We're the only Coven close to Seattle." Edward sighed.

"Regardless, of whoever they were, if we don't put a stop to them the Volturi will." Carlisle says. "I'm surprised they've let it go on this long."

"Maybe they're behind it." Edward suggested. "In Italy I've read Aro's mine, he wants Alice, Lily, and I to join him. Our gifts would shore up his power."

"Wait, hold a damn minute." I say. "Why the hell does he want me?"

"Because, Daisy." Alice says appearing in the room. "you are going to be the most powerful vampire and will be able to dethrone him."

"He knows we'd never join him as long as our family is alive." Edward continued. "An army could solve that for him."

"We can't wait two weeks for graduation-" Bella started.

"Isabella." I growled out, voice echoing. "You remember our deal, not before graduation."

"Sorry, Ma'am." Bella says nodding.

"You'd be a liability as a newborn." Jasper added pulling me into his lap. "unable to control your instincts. An easy target."

"There's also your father and sister to consider." Carlisle says to Bella laying a hand on her shoulder. "And your Mother. How terrible would it be for your parents if you suddenly disappeared and broke your promise to your sister?"

"Speaking of Mom." Bella says turning to me. "when Edward and I went to Florida anytime I mentioned you she had a disgusted look on her face, plus she burned all the trip shirts that were yours."
