The Flower and Major

Part 10

I sat at the kitchen table watching as Dad cleaned his gun. Bella walked in anxiously giving him another beer. 

"Here's another one." She says shakily. 

"Thanks." Dad says to her taking it.

"Bella and I have a date tonight." I say as Dad took a drink. 

Bella and I both shot backward as Dad did a literal spit take. Our eyes wide as we stared at each other.

"Dad!" I scolded. "That was disgusting." 

"I'm going with Edward Cullen while Lily is going with Jasper Hale." Bella says. 

"I thought you didn't like boys from town." Dad coughed cleaning up his mess. 

"They technically live on the outside of town." I shrugged. "Before you ask they're in the same grade as us." 

"Aren't you spending the night with the Cullens?" Dad asked me. 

"Yeah." I nodded. "Alice and Rose want to have a sleepover so Dr. Cullen's taking the boys out camping for the night." 

"Be nice." Bella says. "They're outside." 

I jumped back as Dad cocked his shotgun while he grew a halo over his head causing me to laugh. Bella went to let our boyfriends in. I smiled at Jasper as he came up behind me resting his hand on my shoulder before looking at Dad.

"Chief Swan, we wanted to introduce ourselves formally." Edward says. "I'm Edward Cullen." 

Dad nodded to Edward turning to Jasper who gave him a charming half smile. 

"I'm Jasper Hale, Sir." Jasper says. "We're taking your daughters to play baseball with my family." 

"Baseball?" Dad snorted. "Now, Lily I see, but Bella good luck with that." 

Bella gasped smacking Dad on the shoulder as I cackled. 

"I won't have Bella out late." Edward says.

"I can't promise that our sisters will be going to bed at a reasonable time tonight, they barely get to have sleepovers." Jasper smirked.

"The best to both of you." Dad nodded.

I stood from my seat as Bella and I followed Edward and Jasper to the door. Dad stopped the both of us with quiet whispering,

"I put pepper spray in your bags." Dad says.

"Thanks Dad." I huffed a laugh.

"Dad." Bella moaned embarrassed.

I giggled while walking out the door. I spot Jasper standing on the forest edge smirking at me. I ran over to him and jumped onto his back. He grinned gripping my thighs as I gripped around his neck. He took off in a run. I laughed loudly when we were far enough from Dad's earshot.

Soon enough Jasper set me down. I laughed as I was wrapped in a pair of cold arms. I hugged Esme back smiling as she kissed my cheek. As soon as Esme let me go Emmett pulled me into his arms with a mischievous look in his eyes. I squealed as he darted. My eyes widened as I was suddenly sitting in a tree so high up that I'd break something if I jumped down. 

"It's a good thing you girls are here." Esme smiled at Bella. "We need umps." 

"She thinks we cheat." Emmett grinned.

"I bet you do, Emmett." I called from the tree causing Bella to look up wide eyed. "Jazzy, would you be a dear and help me down?"

Jasper chuckled and flashed underneath the tree holding his arms out. My eyes widen as I shook my head. There was no way in hell that I was jumping. Jasper playfully huffed climbing up the tree and grabbing me before he jumped down. He set me on my feet with a kiss to my forehead. I glared at Emmett before walking over to Bella and Esme who smiled at me. 

Alice looked up at the sky before smirking at us. "It's time." 

Rosalie was up to bat first. Alice does a little leg throw before tossing the ball at lightning speed toward Rosalie. She swung and a loud boom close to the sound of thunder filled the area before Rosalie took off running. 

"Now I see why you need the thunder." Bella says amazed. 

"I bet she's gonna have a home run." I added. 

"Edward's really fast." Esme smiled at me.

Soon enough the ball comes flying into Esme's hand as Rosalie skid across the dirt onto the home plate. Bella glanced at Esme before turning to Rose.

"You're out?" She questioned.

Rosalie glared at Bella as Emmett cheered. I rolled my eyes at him. Carlisle was up to bat next. He seemed to hit the ball harder than what Rosalie did. I laughed slightly seeing Emmett climb up a tree.

"My monkey man." Rosalie said causing me to giggle.

Next up was Jasper who was doing bat tricks smirking at me. I rolled my eyes playfully as he stepped up to bat. He whacked the ball causing it to go flying. My eyes widened as I watched Edward and Emmett both go for the ball. Rosalie and I let out a laugh as both of them collided and it sounded like boulders crashing. The both playfully shoved each other as Maggie walked over and kicked them both laughing.

"You two are idiots." She says before going back to where she was standing previously. 

Carlisle was up to bat again. He swung the bat hitting the ball hard. My eyes were on Alice who looked to be frozen with her eyes glazed over. 

"Stop!" She cried. "They were leaving, but they heard us." 

I was suddenly behind Jasper as the rest of the Cullens surrounded Bella and I.

"Jasper and I will take the girls home." Edward says but Carlisle shook his head.

"It's too late." Carlisle says.

Rosalie took the scarf Carlisle was wearing and wrapped it around my neck before putting her baseball hat on my head. While Edward took Bella's hair down covering her neck. I gripped onto the back of Jasper's shirt with one hand and Bella's hand with the other watching as three red-eyed Vampires stepped out of the trees.
