Part 25

I followed Bella into the house later that night. I made Jake take me home also. Jasper had left to go hunting with Emmett. It was eerie silent.

"You know." Dad says causing me to scream in fright. "The boys could respect meal time."

"God dang it!" I cried. "You gave me a fucking heart attack!"

"We were with Jake." Bella chuckled at me.

"Oh." Dad nodded. "Good for you Bella and sorry for scaring you, Lily."

I playfully glared at him as there was constant knocking on the door. Dad quickly leaves mumbling something about privacy. Sighing I turned the door yanking it open. Edward literally shoved me out of the way causing me to glare at him. Jasper who was behind him, slapped him harshly upside the head causing me to laugh.

"Come on, Jazz." I say. "let's let them have some private time to talk."

I took his hand pulling him upstairs to my room.

"Lily Helen, no having sex under my roof!" Dad yelled out causing me to blush.

Jasper went Ridgid as he sniffed the air.

"Sorry Jazz." I say. "I smell like a wet dog."

"No." He says. "It's not that. Someone's been in the house."

"What?" I hissed.

Edward and Bella came rushing up the stairs. Jasper went to my room searching while Edward searched Bella's. They both came out with hard looks on their face.

"Edward, take the girls to our house." Jasper says but doesn't sound like him. "Get Emmett and Maggie."

"Yes, Sir." Edward gulped.

Sir? I've never heard anyone call Jasper Sir. I reached out to touch Jasper's face but Edward was quickly pulling me and Bella downstairs and out of the house. Sighing I climbed in the backseat of the Volvo watching as Jasper disappeared into the forest. What the hell was going on?

We all entered the Cullen household. Edward had a hard look on his face.

"Maggie, Emmett." He says. "meet him in the woods."

"Who?" Esme asked.

"Someone's been in the Swan house." Edward says. "It made him come out to play."

Emmett and Maggie both cursed before disappearing out of the house. Esme quickly grabbed Bella and I leading us to the sofa.

"Who was it?" Carlisle asked. "Someone we know?"

"Just a stranger." Edward answered. "We didn't recognize his scent."

"A nomad passing through?" Esme asked.

"A passerby wouldn't have left the girls' father alive." Rosalie says causing me to cringe.

Esme wrapped her arms around Bella and I as Jasper, Emmett, and Maggie come in. For some reason Esme's gripped tightly on me.

"His scent disappeared about five miles south of the Swan house." Jasper says southern accent thicker than usual.

"Someone's orchestrating this." Edward says.

"Victoria?" Carlisle asked.

"No, I would have seen her deciding." Alice says.

I stopped paying attention after that as I looked at Jasper who was standing slightly tucked away in the corner just looking at me. His stance seemed to radiate authority. I just wanted to be in his arms right now but it seems Esme doesn't think I should.
