The Flower and Major

Part 34

I curled close to Bella trying to give her more warmth along with myself. Our teeth were chattering from the cold.

"I should have chosen a site lower down." Edward says, pained. 

"N-no, it's fine." Bella chattered. "We're okay." 

"What can I do?" Edward asked.

We didn't answer because honestly there wasn't anything he could do. I jump slightly as the zipper unzips. I turned to see Paul and Jake climbing in. 

"Forget it." Edward growled at Jake.

I smiled at Paul slipped in behind me. I clung to him for his warmth falling asleep almost instantly.

I sat beside Seth in his wolf form stroking his fur. I looked up as Bella walked out of the tent. I gave her a tight smile.

"Hey, sis, Seth." She says.

"Hi." I say gently before giggling as Seth pants a bit.

"Where's Jacob?" Bella asked. "Did he already..." 

"Not yet." Edward says as I opened my mouth to speak. 

I flipped him off as Bella turned to him as he rounds the peak.

"He's checking to see if the woods are clear before he goes, Paul is with the pack." Edward explained. 

I pout as Seth got up jogging off as Edward wrapped Bella in his arms. 

"I'm really sorry about last night." Bella sighed. "It couldn't have been easy on you." 

I turned my attention to my sketch blocking out their conversation. It was a simple drawing of Paul phasing into his wolf form. My head snapped up when I heard Jacob seethe.

"You're marrying him?" 

Jake stood there fighting back what seemed to be tears.

"Jake..." Bella whispered. "You knew he was listening?" 

"He deserved to know." Edward told her. 

Jacob took off toward the woods with Bella after him.

"Jake, stop." Bella pleaded.

"Bella, let him..." Edward grabbed her arm.

"Edward, let her go." I say gently which he does.

"Was it wrong of me to do that?" He asked taking a seat in the snow beside me. 

"No." I shook my head. "He needed to know. It's just really bad timing on your part. What?" 

His face cringed in horror.

"She kissed him." He whispered. "Just so he didn't go kill himself." 

"But she loves you." I say gently.

I turned to look at Bella as she approaches us. She looked between us.

"Edward." She says with teary eyes. "You saw." 

"No." Edward shook his head. "But Jacob's thoughts are very loud." 

"I don't know what happened." Bella whimpered.

"You love him." Edward told her. 

"But I love you more." Bella says.

"He's not mad." I tell my sister. "The main reason you kissed him was to get him to not go kill himself." 

"It's starting." Edward says tensely.

Bella rushed to sit beside us. I wish I had Jasper right now, not knowing scared the hell out of me. I closed my eyes trying to focus my racing heart.

"Lily!" My eyes snapped open to see I was behind Carlisle. "What the fuck are you doing here?" 

I have never heard Carlisle cuss once. But he was anxious. 

"I- I don't know." I say. "I was trying to calm my racing heart and here I am." 

I quickly got up from the ground as a newborn ran at Carlisle from behind. I threw my hands up causing the vampire to go in the air. I brought my hands closely together before yanking the vampire apart. The vampire went flying in pieces. 

"I think I teleported." I say looking toward Jasper.

He looked lethal as he crouched by a body. One was coming up to him from behind. I quickly send a fireball to them as Jasper turned around looking at me  wide eyed. I simply shrugged as I punched the grounds sending shock waves causing some vampires to fall to the ground. 

"Somethings wrong." I say suddenly. "Bella." 

I focused on Bella and Edward as I closed my eyes. I opened them again to see Victoria and Riley attacking Edward. I quickly ran at Victoria climbing onto her back yanking on her firery red hair. Bella looked at me wide eyed as I started to yank. Edward and Seth got Riley torn apart.

"Eddie." I grunted. "Little help."

I was holding onto Victoria for dear life as she flailed trying to knock me off. I screamed as she managed to throw me toward Edward who caught me with ease. I glanced at him nodding. He braced himself and threw me at Victoria causing Bella to scream. I focused on fire as I landed on her. Victoria screamed in agony as she was engulfed in flames.

I sighed as I rolled over onto my back into the snow. I stayed there for a good while as Edward and Seth started throwing Riley into the flames. That was thrilling. I get up eventually walking over to them. Edward was bandaging Bella's arm with a piece of her flannel.

"You-you." Bella stuttered to me.

"What?" I asked.

"Dude, you were literally engulfed in flames." Edward says. "As soon as you left my hands."

"And how did you disappear like that?" Bella asked.

"Teleportation." I shrugged. "I think I scared the hell out of Carlisle."

"You made him cuss." Edward laughed slightly.

Seth suddenly let out a sharp bark causing us to turn around to him.

"Somethings wrong." Bella says grabbing my hand.

"Alice needs us to go." Edward says. "And now."

"Why?" Bella asked. "What's happening?"

"I'll meet you there." I say before teleporting away. "Well hello there, Jazzy."

"Hello, Suga." He kissed me after I hopped off his back.

Edward and Bella raced out of the trees straight to us.

"How long?" Edward asked.

"A few minutes." Alice says. "Maybe ten."

"Try five." I say suddenly.

"They timed their arrival well." Rosalie says.

"Probably hoping the newborns took a few of us out." Emmett shrugged.

"What's she doing here?" Edward asked causing me to turn to where he looked.

"We offered her safe haven if she stopped fighting, she took it." Esme says gently.

"The pack needs to leave." Carlisle says. "The Volturi won't honor a truce with the werewolves."

I suddenly turned on my heel seeing a snippet of Leah getting attacked.

"Leah!" I screamed. "Don't!"

I watched in horror as Jacob attacked the vampire that was attacking Leah. The vampire manage to get Jacob around the midsection and squeezed. My heart aches at the howl of agony Jacob let out.

"Jake!" Bella and I shouted.
