<Uzi's POV>

"Do we really have to do this?" Uzi asked.

"If you don't want to, then we don't have to," N responded.

They showed up to a festival dressed up as a king and a queen, ready to head to the haunted house. It was Halloween, the day of tricks and treats. Today they decided to focus on the 'tricks' part more.

Which was a shame, because Uzi really wanted candy.

Uzi jumped back when a werewolf growled at her, her heart pounding in her chest. She let out a little yelp before hiding behind N, his long king's cloak providing the perfect cover.

N growled back playfully. The werewolf's red eyes blinked twice in surprise before they laughed loudly. "You're a funny one," they said.

They kept going onwards, Uzi ducking behind N every single time someone with a remotely scary costume showed up. There was a man with a chainsaw that absolutely terrified her that she had to cover her mouth as she screamed.

And what did N do?

He waved. He waved at the person that looked ready to murder them with a fucking chainsaw.

"This is fun!" N said, a huge grin sporting his face.

There was the problem.

N had been looking forward to this festival for ages, especially since this haunted house was mentioned a lot for being "really, really, really scary."

And she really did not want to be a party pooper, especially since N seemed so happy.

They finally reached the haunted house, standing in front of the tall building that loomed over them. N was practically bouncing in excitement, but Uzi was shaking in fear.

Here we go.

~•~•~

Uzi shivered as the two of them entered the haunted house. To her, it felt eerie and disturbing. It was dark and she didn't like how she didn't know where anything was.

N, however, didn't seem to have a problem.

Uzi screamed at the first jumpscare. It wasn't even that scary-just some random drone covered in oil. If anything, it looked delicious, but Uzi hated being surprised like that. She gripped onto N's arm tighter, trying to keep herself as composed as possible.

She screamed at every single jumpscare while N laughed in glee. She hated every second of this, but she'd do anything for the stupidly cheerful N.

Uzi could feel herself panicking as they ran away from the man at the end of the hall. She could hear the thumping of his axe against the walls as his heavy footsteps boomed against the wooden floor.

THUMP.

THUMP.

THUMP.

Or was it her heart that was beating?

THUMP.
