"How could you allow such a thing to happen?" had been the first thing Daena heard Viserys say as he questioned her and her cousins, "I will have answers."

Alicent was fuming with anger as she stood beside Ser Criston and Aegon. Aemond sat close to them, his eye being stitched up by a maester.

Daena stood awkwardly behind Daemion. He looked uneasy as he stood alone with the children, the only one there to defend them. His parents, Rhaegon, Laenor, and Rhaenyra were nowhere in sight, much to his dismay.

"The princes were supposed to be abed, Uncle," Daemion answered calmly, watching as the King turned to question the Kingsguard next.

"Who had the watch?" He questioned, earning a loud scoff from Ser Criston.

"Young prince was attacked by his own cousins, Your Grace," Criston pointed out, earning a hateful glare from Daemion.

"You swore oaths to protect and defend my blood!" Viserys screamed, staggering as he used his cane to hold himself up.

"I'm very sorry, Your Grace," Harrold apologized, staring down at the ground in shame.

"The Kingsguard has never had to defend princes from princes, Your Grace," Criston continued to defend Aemond, which only made matters worse.

Viserys paused, turning to shoot the man an angry look. "That is no answer!"

"It will heal, will it not, maester?" Alicent asked worriedly as she stared at Aemond's eye in horror.

"The flesh will heal," Maester Kelvyn answered in a calm tone, a part of him looking uneasy, "But the eye is lost, Your Grace."

Alicent gasped loudly at the revelation, his eyes filling with tears. She turned to Aegon first, her expression turning to fury. "Where were you?"

"Me?" Aegon frowned at his mother's words and Daena flinched when the Queen struck him, "Ow! What was that for?"

"That was nothing compared to the abuse your brother suffered while you were drowning in your cups, you fool," Alicent growled at him angrily as she shoved him roughly.

The doors opening, a part of Daena and Daemion hoped it to be Shaera. They turned quickly, only to sigh when they found it to be Corlys and Rhaenys.

"What is the meaning of this?" Corlys spoke loudly as Rhaenys questioned her granddaughters.

The two girls ran from hiding behind Daemion. They rushed into their grandmother's arms, crying loudly.

Just moments later, the doors opened and Rhaenyra, Rhaegon, Daemon, and Shaera walked into the room.
